The only thing left to do then is pack up and move, which probably what ‘they’ want.
Bicyclers puzzle me . I see so many of them completely ignore stop signs and stop lights. They zip right through and I am talking about the serious bicycle rider types. The ones with expensive bikes, helmets and all the right shorts and t-shirts. They might glance both ways quickly but not even slow down. They form big groups of cyclers and do the same thing. Then when one of their own gets killed doing that they put up a ghost bike and flowers so we can all mourn. It makes no sense.

The sad fact is that in person Dinkins is actually a very nice, generous gentleman. A terrible mayor, of course, who did nothing to stop a pogram. What horrifies me today, is the re-elevating of Sharpton who was frozen out of both the Guiliani and Bloomberg administrations. This is not end well.

Have you ever seen the amazing Weegee photos of drag queens and gays being pushed out of paddy wagons into the Tombs in the “bad old days”?! The Stonewall bar disappeared years ago and yet there’s another bar that now bears that name - and stupid tourists gather there thinking it’s the original...of course, Marie’s Crisis goes on and on, decade after decade.
I’m not sure of when this dopey Stonewall myth took off - certainly it was no Rosa Parks moment at the time.

A fisherman is ten times more likely to die than a police officer, has no pension, is paid less, and works under often terrible conditions. A logger is five times more likely to die on the job. Policing doesn't even make the top ten of hazardous jobs.
