To get an idea of why this White House has placed America in what Senate Armed Services Committee ranking Republican James Inhofe of Oklahoma calls "the most dangerous position we've ever been in as a nation," we turn to one of Obama's biggest mainstream media devotees.
In "The Promise," the fawning book about Obama's first year in office by ex-Newsweek columnist Jonathan Alter, we read of a May 2009 meeting with the presidents of Pakistan and Afghanistan on how to "Disrupt, dismantle and defeat al-Qaida."
Alter writes, "Nothing much concrete was accomplished ... . The session was kicked off not by a military officer or a diplomat but by the secretary of agriculture, Tom Vilsack," who discussed "water rights, slowing soil erosion, and planting new seeds. . .. It was one example of the administration's new thinking."
You just can't make this stuff up. No wonder the president in January was calling Islamic State "a JV team" lacking "the capacity and reach of a bin Laden."
That nonsense is fully exposed now, as Obama's own military advisers use public pressure to shake him out of his self-absorbed Martha's Vineyard complacency.
Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, warns that IS "has an apocalyptic, end-of-days strategic vision" and "will eventually have to be defeated," necessitating "a coalition in the region."
Obama's own Defense Secretary, Chuck Hagel, invoking the 9/11 attacks, warns that "ISIL is as sophisticated and well-funded as any group that we have seen," and we should take a "cold, steely hard look."
Even the New York Times, on its front page Friday, admitted that Obama has "not publicly articulated a detailed strategy to stop the group."

Obama's jayvee comment: I was surprised that such a comment came from Obama, because he played varsity high school basketball in Hawaii, and he should have known better.
Why should Obama have known better?
As a varsity player, Obama should have known that the players on a jayvee team are getting ready to move up to the varsity once they grow in maturity and skills. In other words, they don't remain junior varsity forever.
They eventually move up to the varsity and often are more successful than the varsity players they replace.
And that is what happened in the Middle East: Ferocious ISIS members moved up from the junior varsity to the varsity, and they became more famous and deadlier than those who came before them.
The junior varsity ISIS has turned quickly into the varsity ISIS, and now God help us all.

The military and other government agencies will not protect Americans. We will have to protect ourselves from terrorism and military and government incompetence that enables it and brings it to our homeland.

Even worse than that...We will have to protect ourselves from our own government as they try to convict every American of violating “the rights of Muslims!”

I’ve raised the issue of this sort of playing out to become a United States of Iran, and had folks explain that Iran’s Muslims were not the same as the Muslim Brotherhood’s Muslims.
Nothing short of a nuclear blast will stop these people, and I hope the JCs recognize that. This is NOT the time for political correct, flexible negotiable bullshit. An alliance/coalition with any ME nation would be a disaster and will not stop the muslims. They must be exterminated. Permanently.

I was referring to Obama’s recent claim about IS(IS/IL). Maybe I ought to have put it in quotation marks. He claimed them to be “nihilistic” as well, while obliquely trying to cover up the inherent nihilism within Islam
Sobering...think about it...we faced down the Nazis and the Japanese and we were in a tough fight with them.....what intel has Inhofe seen making a statement as doomsday as this..

As i understand it, Obama was not a starter, but he played a lot coming off the bench.
He played on a state championship team in high school. I have seen pictures of Obama and his team on the internet.
In one interview, I believe, Obama said that because he was a little taller than many players in the league, he often would post himself low near the basket and make easy baskets because of his height advantage.
Olog-Hai, it seems to me that Obama is just a little too self-serving here. What has ISIS/ISIL done that Islam teaches is wrong?
They are trying to set up a massive regional caliphate
They are taking possession of large tracts of land in the name of Islam
This caliphate will be used as a springboard to take further ownership outside the region in other nations
They are cleansing the occupied territories of infidels
They are enforcing the tried and true tenets of Islam as it applies to women
They have killed people in mass. So what? Aren’t these deaths prescribed by the Koran for different sorts of infractions? Haven’t the same ‘denouncers’ remained silent when terrorist perpetrated these acts before?
A woman is stoned because she has been raped? Any criticism on point? No.
A woman is beaten for not wearing a veil. Any criticism on point? No.
A woman’s sex organ is butchered so her capacity to enjoy intercourse with her husband will be severely diminished. Any criticism on point? No.
Obama never speaks out against these things. Now all of a sudden they are wrong. It’s laughable.
Nihilism? Where? The forces of ISIS/ISIL are implementing the very tenets of Islam. Obama just doesn’t like it when it’s so crystal clear what Islam is all about.
Thus he claims their actions aren’t a part of Islam, when they absolutely are.
He knows it. The leaders of Islam know it. Most everyone here knows it.
Obama can go pound sand. He’s a liar, and he’s in good company with the people he has sworn to stand with.
