And when American blacks like Alex Haley of “Roots” fame journeyed to Africa in search of their `roots’, they were treated with contempt by the native blacks, who regarded them as racially mixed & the descendants of slaves.

I thought in 2008 that an Obama presidency would set race relations in this country back fifty years.

It’s actually set them back to the late 1960’s when things went from “We shall overcome” to “Burn, baby, burn!”

Re: “We Don’t Have to Have More Fergusons”

We won't have more.

Not after Rodney King, Trayvon Martin, and the Ferguson riots.

White policemen will no longer accept the personal and legal risks involved in arresting potentially violent Black males.

And Black males everywhere know it.

White policemen will now find any plausible excuse to avoid questioning or detaining Black males.

The consequences will be tragic, but mostly for Black communities.

Thousands of violent Black males who would normally be in jail will now roam the streets with relative impunity.

Thousands of innocent victims will be killed or terrorized, including many white victims.

“My prayers go up for all in Ferguson and North St. Louis County, that we get peace and justice restored. We do not do justice in America in the streets, though. We have legal processes that are set in motion, that are designed after centuries of Anglo-American jurisprudence tradition. They’re designed to protect the rights and liberties of everyone involved. That includes the Brown family, for justice for them and for the community. It also includes the officer who has not yet been charged. Our constitutional and our Bill of Rights protections have to be followed here, and we do not do justice in the streets.”

Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder

Just as simple, give them all the promised 40 acres and a mule; accrued interest was not a part of the promise. Let them all know that they can claim their mule and 40 acres in north central Alaska.

“Yet, despite this, racial ghettos which harbor, even nurture, poverty and crime persist, generation after generation. “

Racial ghettos are the problem??

Gee,the folks from all those Chinatowns,Koreatowns, and Little Italys seemed to manage quite well for themselves.

Do these people EVER really look at themselves?

You are of course absolutely right, the future of the rat party depends on keeping the races segregated yet ninety percent of black people still believe the GOP is the racist party. Upside down and backwards.

How do you know this?

There was an African-American couple we saw in Kenya. They WERE obviously American...and the locals treated them like AMERICANS, not with any signs of contempt.

The Africans really do have their own lives to live and, to me, they couldn't give a rat's patootie about American "blacks." They had FAR more important things to think about that the possible color combinations of a few American black tourists.
Of course, that was just my one opinion and I don't speak for or about ALL blacks any more that you do.

================================

I thought in 2008 that an Obama presidency would set race relations in this country back fifty years.

So did I. What a joke he is.

It’s actually set them back to the late 1960’s when things went from “We shall overcome” to “Burn, baby, burn!”

True enough.
That was such a STUPID time.

I didn't buy into it at all. But then, I had a most REALISTIC dad who set me on the right path AT ALL TIMES.

He served in North Africa during WWII. He never saw Rommel but he had plenty to say about the North Africans. It wasn't a good time for them and they didn't treat the American G.I.s very well.
