ISIS an 'Incredible' Fighting Force, US Special Ops Sources Say
ABC News ^ | August 25, 2014 | By JAMES GORDON MEEK

With the Obama White House left reeling from the "savage" slaughter of an American journalist held hostage by ISIS terrorists, military options are being considered against an adversary who officials say is growing in strength and is much more capable than the one faced when the group was called "al Qaeda-Iraq" during the U.S. war from 2003-2011.

ISIS, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, has been making a "tactical withdrawal" in recent days in the face of withering U.S. airstrikes.

"These guys aren't just bugging out, they're tactically withdrawing. Very professional, well trained, motivated and equipped. They operate like a state with a military," said one official who tracks ISIS closely. "These aren't the same guys we fought in OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) who would just scatter when you dropped a bomb near them."

ISIS appeared to have a sophisticated and well thought-out plan for establishing its "Islamic Caliphate" from northern Syria across the western and northern deserts of Iraq, many experts and officials have said, and support from hostage-taking, robbery and sympathetic donations to fund it.

“They’re beyond just a terrorist group. They marry ideology, a sophistication of strategic and tactical military prowess. They are tremendously well-funded,” he said. “This is beyond anything that we’ve seen.”

Better than the queer brigades of Obama’s new and improved ‘tolerant’ armed forces?! No way!

If you want to beat these guys, we need a hardcore zero tolerance military

They are self-funded as well - $2 mil a day from oil. Also they got $400 Mil from Iraqi banks = net worth over $2 billion ...

Left reeling? I think he means left kneeling on their prayer rugs saying, "Way to go, Allah."

“Who IS funding ISIS? Is it really just the Saudis?”

I thought it was all the usual guys, Quatar, Turkey, CAIR ...

Ultimately it is the United States of America and Europe. Every dollar sent to the Arabs for oil is 50 cents to Jihad.Every humanitarian dime to the PA or Gaza is diverted 99% to Jihad. Every dollar to WHO that is intended for Moslem countries, refugee camps or any other Moslem entity goes almost entirely to Jihad. Quatar and Arabia are but middlemen between Western resources and Jihad. We are not selling them the rope for to hang us, we are paying them to take it.

Here is their ideology. America will not lift a finger so let’s do whatever the heck we please.

America has lifted that finger. The Sultan in Washington has put a hold on resupply of Phoenix missiles to Israel. That is the sort of help that is now to be expected from America. America's Sultan will not aid the Infidels more than he must to keep himself in power and will kick out any props of opportunity from under the Infidel would-be allies of America. It is in his interest to see the Kurds and the Yazidi and yea even the Jews overwhelmed.

They're going to attract followers like nothing we've ever seen before too.
This isn't just another jihadi group it's a movement.

“...CREATED ISIS in Benghazi”

Why not check a map first?

It’s only 700+ miles and 3 countries to the nearest ISIS AO.

“Notice how our military sounds as if they are PROMOTING ISIS, not warning them? Are we being set up by our own gubmint?”

I noticed that too — the tone is almost hero worship. Plus it was on ABC so there goes any credibility.

Someone in our military referred to these morons in pick-up trucks as an “incredible” force? Really? Compared to who? The Little League All Stars? I’m pretty sure the FIJI Coast Guard has more Armor and Air Assets that this “incredible” force.

My question too. AQ was the big terror for a couple decades, then suddenly this new (?) group comes out of nowhere and takes over Iraq like AQ never could. WTF?

They bootstrapped with robberies and kidnappings. They asked for $135 Million for the American they just executed. I’m sure they were getting several million each for various Europeans they were holding. Unlike the USA, European governments do pay ransom.

And now they are largely self-funding. The supposedly got 1/2 a billion in gold and cash when they took over the city of Mousel, which included a regional Central Bank of Iraq.

They also sell over $1 million a day in oil, from the wells they control. Much of it is sold to Assad of Syria, who they are fighting with. The Arab world is odd.

Anyone know if we trained and armed this bunch? It doesn’t seem too far fetched to me these days.

If that's true then whoever built ISIS knew what they were doing.

I wonder who supplied ISIS with weapons and training to initially fight Syria?

Could it be, could it be....

The US Government???

And keep in mind the police never found the terrorist. A citizen found him in a boat in the backyard. Cops had missed that street entirely. Were making people leave their house at gunpoint hands in the air and forcing them to run.
