Romney on 2016 Run: ‘Circumstances Can Change’ [Don't ZOT the messenger!]

Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has denied he’s not going to make a third bid for the White House but on Tuesday he left open a very small window.

“I know you’re going to press, but you know, this is something we gave a lot of thought to when early on I decided we’re not going to be running this time,” Romney said in an interview with Hugh Hewitt. “And again, we said look, I had the chance of running. I didn’t win. Someone else has a better chance than I do. And that’s what we believe, and that’s why I’m not running. And you know, circumstances can change, but I’m just not going to let my head go there.” .... (italics & blue mine)

Romney’s former running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) recently said he hopes Romney will run again.

The GOP-e pissant can run but he can’t hide. I refused to vote for the POS in 2012 and no set of circumstances will tempt me to vote for Willard at ANY time in the future. He can buy nominations. He cannot buy my vote. I am done with GOP ruling class trash at every level of government. Those who feel likewise will continue to grow with each passing year. FUMR!

And don't forget gun grabber candidates. Oh that leaves Willard out as well.

God bless you and yours!

I live in northern Illinois and my vote cancels yours. Count on it!

Don't get your palm too close to your forehead, lest your hand get burned.

Why would anyone bother arguing with you when we can simply vote against your candidate? Hillary, Obozo, Romney. There simply is no meaningful difference. All are gun grabbers, babykillers, marriage destroyers, promoters of "gay" everything, anti-military, anti-veteran, foreign policy weaklings, globaloneyists, global warming believing enthusiasts, envirowhackos, social trendies, economic ignorami. The minute that a Willard or anything like him is nominated by the GOP is the minute that the GOP LOSES. It does not matter what the Demonrats nominate. Willard and his ilk are just THAT unacceptable.

You want our votes. Ms. DuPage County? It is very simple. Nominate a candidate WORTH VOTING FOR ON HIS OR HER OWN MERITS not some ruling class POS like Willard. BTW, that does NOT include Nancyboy Kirk for any office.

You are in no position to speak for "everyone." A growing number of us will never vote for trash like Romney again and we are voting FOR whomever we vote for. I cast my own vote for whom I please and not for whom you please. If you vote for a liberal, you are a liberal. Party affiliation matters not.

If our republic simply MUST be destroyed, it may as well be destroyed by Demonrats while unified GOP figures scream their displeasure to the heavens crying for vengeance. People who vote for the likes of Romney have no kick coming when an Obozo or the Arkansas Medusa are elected instead. The only difference is that the Demonrats get the spoils and the ruling class GOP-e are frustrated again. Toooo bad, soooo sad! The policies are the same regardless of the party label of the frauds and liars in office.

Now we have the tired old SCOTUS nomination argument. Even Ronaldus Maximus nominated Sandra Day O'Connor to the court after James Baker saw to it that a pack of lies about O'Connor being a pro-lifer and a conservative were fed to RR. What do Earl Warren, William Brennan, Potter Stewart, Herod Blackmun, Lewis Clueless Powell, John Paul Stevens, and David Swish Souter have in common? Nominees of GOP presidents, each and every one. Who needs such dangerous trash on SCOTUS? Not I. Not the US.

If we were to have actual conservative nominees in a closely divided Senate, you can count on such GOP-e trash as NancyBoy Kirk, Susan Collins, Thad Cockroach, Lamar Alexander, Bob Corker, John McCain, Jeff Flake, John Cornyn, Lindsay Graham, Scott Brown if elected, and their ilk, will come up with the hand-wringing anxiety over any decent nominee and give enough votes to the Demonrats to be the Demonrat Margin of Victory (DMV).

Just don’t vote for Romney in the primary. Then we won’t have to worry about him running against Hillary or whoever.
Romney lost last time. We don’t need a repeat.

My very wise father said, “I’m voting for a Governor, not a minister!”

Did your very wise father give you any insight as to why none of the Romney family has ever served in the military?

Like your dad, I totally understand that we're voting for politicians, not ministers.

What I don't understand is why anyone would consider voting for someone who is part of generation after generation who think themselves too good to fight, but have the moral superiority to send other mother's sons to war.

If he did, would you mind sharing?

See, "stepping up to the plate" as you term it, is more than having more money than other candidates, or it being your "turn" to run. "Stepping up to the plate" means being willing to sacrifice for your country in the way you are willing make others to sacrifice.

Mitt Romney once told a soldier's sister that his sons were serving the country by riding around in a luxury RV, campaigning, staying in hotels every night, just as her brother was serving in a war zone. Tells me all I need to know.

The Romney family is too rarefied and fragile to defend our nation. That anyone would consider voting for any of them is sad and sort of sickening. Mitt Romney isn't qualified for the job.

That’s the same then as voting for Hitlery.

If you say so, fine.

I accept your word as the 100% gospel truth.

Since Romney has been rejected as presidential material twice before (2008, 2012), the GOP should know by now that conservatives out-and-out reject him.

Either the GOP thinks that they "own" our votes, or that we'll give in because they say so. They should know better, and the last two elections say differently, but they either don't seem to be learning or they think that they own our votes.

The GOP is like a child disobeying you when you've told them you'll punish them if they break the rules. The break the rules, you punish them, and they blame you for their punishment, when in fact you were doing your job.

The children of the GOP have been told twice that running Romney will result in no support. If they do it anyway, many of us will do what needs to be done.

If you see that as a vote for "Hitlery", that's okay. You're right in line with GOP leadership. I just hope that you and they learn before it is too late that threats won't get you votes, but decent candidates will.

I saw very little evidence that he was running in 2012.

As others have discovered at FR, I will not argue. You are entitled to your opinion as I am. However, you are on VERY dangerous ground if you intended to direct sarcasm against my father.

A third party candidate would probably evolve because of the short-sightedness of a few wanna-be self-important individuals. Such a “revolt” would be political suicide because then neither Republican or Tea Party will win. Hillary will be Queen and more completely destroy our nation. Only the Republican Party that cannibalizes its own!

WHY DO I SUPPORT HIM?
In brief, Romney has PROVEN wisdom to lead. He already has accomplished much in business. These other candidates are positive and I appreciate many of them. However, are mere politicians that will need to have their “hand held” to make ANY decision... did I mention ‘self-important’ ADVISORS (?)

Or, worse... indiscriminately ACT jumping in any direction to appear to act ‘presidential!’

I am NOT a one issue voter. However, I am TOTALLY pro-life. I was a staff nurse in the NICU and took a public position against ANY infants right to life.

I believe Romney served in a difficult position as governor of a democrat state. The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the Susan B. Anthony List, pro-life and pro-family organizations and individuals, including a leading pro-life organization in Romney’s own state supported him.

No, I vote for a total package: wisdom to lead, i.e. Ronald Reagan

It’s fine if you do or don’t agree everyone is ultimately responsible for their own decision. This simply is mine.

Unassailable logic VS emotion driven mushy thinking.

On balance your approach is probably more effective with the American voting public. Go forth and shame people into voting for Jeb Bush.

And when he loses you can blame me. I’ve got broad shoulders.

Yes, thank you for Freepmailing me this post.

I see that you continue to repeat party-line stuff about Romney, all likely lifted from google in a hurry, while refusing to address any of the points made about Romney’s liberal positions. Clearly you know nothing of his history; you want him to be conservative, so you delude yourself that he is.

If you are pro-life, as you say—and I don’t doubt your claim-—then you should not want to associate yourself with a man who personally raised funds for Planned Parenthood.

As to your statements about Romney’s “wisdom”, again-—no man can be wise and yet support homosexuality.

What do you think of Romney’s 2012 statement that queers should be able to adopt children?
