There are two things happening between Ukraine and Russia right now. First, Russian and Ukrainian leaders are meeting in Belarus to negotiate a peace deal in the Ukrainian conflict that Russia insists it has nothing to do with. Second, Russian military forces are crossing the border into Ukraine in what is clearly a hostile invasion and act of war. That includes Russian artillery, Russian tanks, Russian-trained irregular forces, and even uniformed Russian soldiers who have admitted on camera that they are Russian military ordered to invade by their commanders.
But the first piece of that is obfuscating the second. Getting Russia to agree to a peace deal on Ukraine requires lots of careful diplomacy, and that means that no one wants to formally acknowledge Russia's invasion of Ukraine, even though Russia is definitely invading Ukraine right now. That's how you have even the more hawkish figures in the Obama administration making statements like this:
The new columns of Russian tanks and armor crossing into Ukraine indicates a Russian-directed counteroffensive may be underway. #escalation Geoffrey Pyatt (@GeoffPyatt) August 26, 2014
Russias military incursions into Ukraine- artillery, air def systems, dozens of tanks & military personnelrepresent significant escalation Susan Rice (@AmbassadorRice) August 26, 2014

I thought Belarus was opposed to Russia on this. Lukashenko is afraid he might be next, or has Putin made him an offer he couldn’t refuse?
This with the reports of tanks in Telamnove it appears Ivan is securing the crossroads of what appears to be the main road from Donetsk towards the Black Sea closest to the Russian border. The next major crossroad in the coastal highway through Novoazovsk is Maripul. Ivan can take the roads from these town north into Donetsk.
Belarus is in full accordance with the new Soviet order, they are attached at the hip to Moscow. They can pretend to play nice but in reality they answer the call to Putin.
Mariupol is being reinforced by Ukraine. Hopefully this does not leave Donetsk unchallenged. Reports of attacks along the road to Mariupol are also on that map.

Shooting in Sahanka (15 km from Mariupol). Fights. Jets passing-by
As a follow up if Ivan wants to go to Donetsk this route is faster in terms of miles needed to go than crossing the border directly east of Donetsk.
Of course at one time Lukashenko dreamed of leading the new Soviet Union, but Putin beat him to the punch.
lol.
I can’t imagine that guy trying for the top job... heh
I’d love to see the Uki’s kick their ass. I doubt there’s any chance of that. 100 tanks. Pupin is a real prince of a fellow.
E.U.?
U.S.?
Crickets!
Belarus is just cutting a better deal with Putin, maybe this is all part of the new Peace Plan. Bow to Rusian Demands and there will be peace. Maybe Ukraine can get some cheap gas out of Russia for a Deal—Land for Peace. It worked well for Israel after all?
Crimea wants to vote in Ukraine elections.... hhhhmmmm
I just a report that Neo-Nazi groups from France, Serbia and other countries are fighting with the Russians in Ukraine.
Let’s be plain, immigrants are invading US right now and no one gives a damn.
Hopefully someone would raise eyebrows if they started bringing tanks and anti-aircraft missiles with them.
When is war not war? When the world is to afraid to use the word “war” while Russia marches west.
But let’s not forget that Sarah Palin predicted this back in 2008, and of course *SHE* is the stupid one.
