I remember reading a news article that wondered if Romney would “ride in” like a “White knight” or some sheet like that. Funny.
That’s exactly what I described it as back in 2002. At the time, knowing of his obvious Presidential ambitions (that he would run in 2008, delayed 12 years by his failure to defeat Ted Kennedy in 1994), I stated it would be curious to see how he did as Governor. My question was answered in short order. Took less than 2 years to confirm he was a total disaster and regarded the office as a “nuisance.” The last person claiming to be a Republican we needed as President.
