Actual title before shortening: Home Office researcher who raised alarm over sex abuse in Rotherham more than a decade ago was told to 'never, ever' repeat the allegations
A council researcher who raised the alarm over sex abuse in Rotherham more than a decade ago was threatened and told to 'never, ever' repeat the allegations, it emerged today.
The woman, who was seconded to Rotherham council by the Home Office, compiled a report in 2001 that said most of the perpetrators were Asian men.
But instead of taking action, child protection bosses sent her on a 'diversity course' and tried to sack her.

Presumably you are speaking of England and not of me.
1) it blurs the issue of which "Asian" ethnicities are to blame, tarring even those Asians such as Sikhs and Hindus who fought vigorously against these muslum perverts attempting to subjugate their children; and
2) it hides the specific "Asian" ideology that encourages pederasty, rape and conquest via rape; i.e. Islam.
I haven’t seen any mention of the political party all these bureaucrats and cops belong to.
I think we all realize that's how the British have been using these words. But it's still misleading. What the rapists had in common is not a common national origin in west and south Asia (most of them in fact were born in Britain) --- nor do the perps include Hindus, Baha'is, Zoroastrians, Assyrian Orthodox, Chaldean Catholics, etc. --- but the relevant feature they all have in common is that they are Muslims, adherants of the political-military-social-moral ideology known as Islam.
And this is relevant because the capture and rape of women is fully conformed to the precept and example of Muhammad, the founder of Islam.
I'm sure you can see that.
I assume the New York Times trained them...
Our MSM spreading their foolishness...
Labour!
I wonder if the british press is reporting on those “asians” that are invading Ukraine right now?
Expat explained the British terminology in #15. It’s not American English, it’s British English, and how they refer to different groups. This wasn’t written for an American audience that describes the groups differently, Every Englishman understood perfectly what was written.
Boot, bonnet, lift, spanner, flat, tyre, litre, mobile etc - I get it. But Asian...misleading.
Not really. That is common usage over there so how can it be misleading? The Brit news media is writing for Brits, not Americans.

She should never, ever have made that generalization. At least until after a trial, she should just have listed the names/descriptions of the predators and pretended not to notice any patterns. “Oh, are half the suspects named Mohammed, Achmed, Ali, and Omar? I didn’t notice.”
As for letting it slide and not repeating the charges, that is an act of supreme evil. I hope those guilty of such a crime will find a way to atone for putting more children in extreme danger, but I cannot imagine how that could be fixed. How do you make restitution for allowing children to be abused over the course of years? How do the predators and their politically correct enablers live with themselves?
I do understand your point. ‘Asian’ is Brit speak for what might be more accurately termed ‘South Asian’ or would likely have been called ‘Indian’ before 1948. I think many here are comparing the British press’s use of ‘Asian’ to the American press’s use of ‘teen’. Everyone knows what a large group of ‘teens’ rampaging through a mall really is.
Does Britain suffer from a large number Hindu (or Christian Arab) rape gangs?
I understand this is the common usage, but that is no reason not to object.
One can't see they are Asians.
One reason why unknown numbers of Libyans, Bosniaks, Chechens, Pakistanis, etc.--- and that comprises Africans, Europeans, and Asians --- are slipping over the U.S. southwest border and disappearing into the U.S., is that they are Muslims AND that they can't be visually distinguished from Mexicans, Salvadorans, Nicaraguans and Guatemalans. Put on a jacket with Lindo Michoacan embroidered across the back and have him say his name is Flaco, and as Joe Biden would say, "Bienvenidos, hermanos, we're all Amerians here."
These particular people I'm talking about are not Asians and not distinguishable from other immigrants by their appearance. They're coming because they're Muslims and it's a safe bet they want to wreak havoc.
It would be seven kinds of stupid to call them Asians. The relevant detail, what gives them an operative characteristic in common, is that they are Muslims.
That’s right, your ‘teen’ or ‘yute’ analogy is good, and ‘Asian’ means Muslim Paki in this context, because the answer to your last question is ‘No’.
