Pakistanis and Bangladeshis ARE Asian, and that is how they are described in English. If they had been Chinese, etc. the English would have probably used the term "Oriental".

Ah, but Britain has large numbers of Indians—I guess they’re also referred to as ‘Asians’. Do they have the same kind of problems (rape, no-go zones, demands for Hindu laws, etc. etc.) from them? Does the average Brit include Indians in his mind when he reads ‘Asian gangs rape hundreds of preteen girls’. I bet not.

The reason the word "Asian" is misleading in this context is twofold:

1) it blurs the issue of which "Asian" ethnicities are to blame, tarring even those Asians such as Sikhs and Hindus who fought vigorously against these muslum perverts attempting to subjugate their children; and

2) it hides the specific "Asian" ideology that encourages pederasty, rape and conquest via rape; i.e. Islam.

I think we all realize that's how the British have been using these words. But it's still misleading. What the rapists had in common is not a common national origin in west and south Asia (most of them in fact were born in Britain) --- nor do the perps include Hindus, Baha'is, Zoroastrians, Assyrian Orthodox, Chaldean Catholics, etc. --- but the relevant feature they all have in common is that they are Muslims, adherants of the political-military-social-moral ideology known as Islam.

And this is relevant because the capture and rape of women is fully conformed to the precept and example of Muhammad, the founder of Islam.

Perhaps that is the issue. On this side of the pond, "Oriental" has fallen out of favor for PC reasons, so "Asian" is used more commonly to describe East Asians, while "Middle Eastern" is the term we would more often use for the nationalities at issue.
