Poll Finds Rapid Shift In Favour Of Scottish Independence

Scottish voters are shifting rapidly toward support for independence with less than three weeks to go to a referendum that could end the 307-year-old political union at the heart of the U.K., a new opinion poll suggests. The YouGov survey for the Sun newspaper puts the pro-union lead at just 6 percentage points when undecided voters are excluded, down from the 22 points it found less than a month ago and the 14 points it reported in mid-August.The poll offers a huge morale boost to campaigners for a Yes vote in this month’s independence referendum, particularly since YouGov has consistently reported relatively low levels of support for independence compared with other pollsters.

“If even YouGov have it this close, then you better believe we’re winning this folks,” tweeted one independence supporter. The result will fuel doubts about the performance of the cross-party pro-union Better Together campaign after a week in which its advertising strategy has been widely questioned. The No camp lead had “collapsed”, with the independence campaign now “in touching distance of victory”, Peter Kellner, YouGov president, wrote in the Sun.

Sounds like the fix is in. YouGov (founded by a socialist) predicting such a “rapid shift” proves that the “referendum” is out of the public’s hands.

Good for them? This will divide the UK. The Scottish Independence folks are socialists. This will give Russia another ally and harm a major opponent.

If Quebec wouldn’t do it Scotland won’t.Francophones in Quebec (huge majority) have a contempt for English speaking Canada that you can cut with a knife...and always have had.Much stronger connections between Scotland and the rest of the country. And just today a top official of the EU announced that there’s no way that Scotland would be allowed entry.

it will have impact on the entire EU.

And the US.

God grant the right of self determination to those that hold it dear and fight for it.

I don’t know but it should do.

They should get as far away as they can from the PC lib suicide culture that has overtaken England.

Unfortunately, they have their own versions of it in Scotland as well.

The french don't have quite the history of break-away geographic areas that Britain does.

They don't have that in their genes.

Scotland has a history of independence and fighting the crown.

“...when undecideds are excluded...”

In this type of contest undecideds usually break to the status quo. It won’t pass this time!

They think it’s going to be the United States of Braveheart.

It will be one of the most socialist countries in Europe.

Lots of folks in Appalachia are.

They proved difficult for British, Yankee, and Confederate Armies.

Some moved further south.
