There have been some similar cases reported in the U.S., although nothing on as large a scale. Somali men were specifically mentioned.
I don’t know that, in the U.S., you would find anything like the concentration of young white girls in government care as is found in formerly-industrial cities in Britain. Their formerly working class is a couple of generations further down the slippery slope than ours. We also have much more mobility in the U.S.
