Both of former President George W. Bush's daughters aren't following the family's Republican Party heritage.
Jenna Bush Hager ... is registered to New York's Independence Party ...
Barbara Pierce Bush, is registered to vote in Texas and is not affiliated with any political party...

A case can be made for that. The sick part was the way he filled his administration with the Bakers, Deavers, etc. The conservative movement was livid, but like most FReepers to this day, I hero worshipped Reagan and just refused to listen. But they were right. The few conservatives (Richard Allen, Haig, a few more) were purged.
You don’t really register with a party in Texas. You have a registration card every two-year cycle that gets stamped if you vote in a primary so you cannot cross-over during the cycle but you can switch next primary season.
I’ve voted as both Republican and as Democrat (protest votes) before. All depends on which primary matters to you.
I don;t blame them. The GOP sucks.
Good, they.dont have to pretend like the rest of. their liberal family. Good riddance.
Should we expect nude playboy layouts like Patty (Reagan) Davis?
Neither is his WIFE!!! She is nothing but a MODERATE DEMOCRAT.....Nice woman but RUINED him by INTERFERRING
NEVER heard that before.....quote please!!
In many states that allows you to vote in either primary and in some states in some elections there may only be a choice in one party's primary.
In New York City, for example, the only choice you may have will be between Democrats, so if you aren't really planning to make a career in the GOP, registering as an independent makes sense.
And in ancient times, it wasn't unheard of that the Democrat might actually be more conservative than the Republican candidate.
I don't want to be the one to say it, but maybe Jenna registered with the "Independence Party" thinking that she was actually registering as an independent.
Jenna registered in the Independence Party by mistake, intending to register as an independent.
That is exactly what happened.
Reagan had no choice. He was told in Detroit by the people who run the country/establishment that he could not be President unless he picked Bush. It wasn’t a request.
When I was in high school, I knew the family of Rep. Peter Peyser (RINO-NY). Nice people, but Pete was a Rockefeller Republican who later turned Dhimmicrap.
While he was serving in Congress as a Republican, his daughters registered as members of the Liberal Party.
I know. The article says that. :)
How else can you interpret that?
Also, Bush always supported homosexual civil unions. And almost every cabinet member he had was a supporter of samesex marriage. I think it’s a myth he was ever against it.
The Independence Party has over 400,000 registrants. I wonder how many of the others did the same thing Jenna did.
This same effect also pumps up the AIP’s registration numbers in California.
Poor George, born with a silver spoon in his mouth and a log in his eye. Lucky thing for him he can paint as he no longer has a day job.
I don’t blame them....
Agreed. Are we to REALLY believe the Bush Sr. had no idea of Justice Souter’s political leanings?
No.
