ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Rochester Police Department has identified the officer shot and killed in the line of duty Wednesday night as Daryl R. Pierson.
Police and emergency crews rushed to the area of Hudson Avenue and Warsaw Street shortly before 9:30 p.m., where according to Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli, Pierson and a suspect exchanged gunfire following a pursuit. Ciminelli said Pierson was fatally wounded.
At a news conference Thursday, Ciminelli said Pierson leaves behind a wife and two children, ages 4 and 3-months-old.

The cop is White. The “suspect” is in the hospital.
If the “suspect” is not White, this is the last we will hear of this.
But somehow I don/t think we should expect a statement from that bigoted POS huckster Eric Holder.
Officer DiPaola erred in not shooting the suspect enough. My sympathies to the officers family. Apparently it is only criminals that can possess guns in NY.
Daryl R. Pierson ... Prayers being said. We have lost another Officer of the Law. A Wife has lost her best friend, and two young children have lost their father. Prayers for all Family and Friends.
Holder must be investigating this.
I swear that Holder is the most racist AG we have ever had, the man should have been removed right after he let the black racist panthers go, but then went on to say that was nothing compared to what happened to his people , HIS PEOPLE!!!!
