White House: Obama to delay immigration action

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Abandoning his pledge to act by the end of summer, President Barack Obama has decided to delay any executive action on immigration until after the November congressional elections, White House officials said.

The move instantly infuriated immigration advocates while offering relief to some vulnerable Democrats in tough Senate re-election contests.

Two White House officials said Obama concluded that circumventing Congress through executive actions on immigration during the campaign would politicize the issue and hurt future efforts to pass a broad overhaul.

We'll need a majority with b*lls if we're to survive the last two years of this miscreant's term. He'll really have 'more flexibility' after November.

I'm not optimistic, but who knows.

Do red state dems really believe this will save their jobs come election day? I expect the GOP to continue to make this an issue.

I always hear how dems are willing to sacrifice their jobs in order to pass an agenda (like obamacare). Perhaps a more accurate statement would be that the far left is willing to sacrifice its more moderate members to pass an agenda.

Wonder why Obama is so worried about losing the Senate? He seems more that willing to work around Congress.

Looks like Obama has to develop a “strategy” for illegally granting blanket amnesty to millions of illegals against the wishes of the American people.

The party told him point blank, it wasn’t going to happen, too many nedangered Dems, however he will try and ram it through between Nov and January...before a possible GOP senate takes over.

This is the plan all along!

The ‘Rats needed to get the word out of intentions without actually pulling the trigger. All the news snips of the past few months were controlled to appear to be committed but not too committed. The ‘Rats controlled which way it might lean at any given moment... but the news had to be out there to get their GOTV program going strong, while not firing up opponents.

Which means he is afraid. He will still spit on the Constitution, but he is afraid to do it on this action right now.

Makes sense... The despicably evil Marxists on the left will view this as the new colonization of the United States of America. I say, if the Kenyan Marxist is brazen enough to go through with his diabolical plan and if we’re going to have to fight a civil war as a result to defeat these Marxist a-holes and save this country, then so be it.

It’s amazing to me me that an action that would generate hostility downstream gets delayed and candidates don’t have the balls to call out their Democratic opponent for the move.

They need to run ads hammering them for being the party of unrestrained immigration. Run ads showing the victims of criminals due to illegals. Hammer them hammer them so hard that the iota of shame that remains in some democrats feel it.

This is a little disconcerting...

The administration thinks the Senate is still within Democrat control in 2014...by fraud or theft...

If Obama thought the Senate was a lost cause he would pass executive amnesty...yesterday...

His massive ego dictates he would...

Obviously, somebody has told Barry and his 'RATS that Americans don't want "comprehensive immigration reform" aka AMNESTY and have decided that we've already got all the welfare recipients in this country that we need.

The National Commie Lib DemocRAT Committee has started shoveling their bull**** on the race between Tobin (R) and Kirkpatrick ('RAT) here in District 1 in Arizona by bombarding us with one of their phony baloney, good time rock and roller negative ads. They're claiming that Tobin cut all the education budgets and this caused all the "class sizes" to increase. I hope the voters are smart enough to figure out what the real cause of increased "class sizes" is and that it's the commie 'RATS who are causing it.

“So Republicans should warn voters that they will be subjected to further invasion of illegals after the election. Obama just said so.”

Agreed. Every Republican who is running against a Dem who is vulnerable to the immigration issue should ask, every day, for their opponent to pledge publicly that they won't support amnesty by Obama ever, even after the election. Make them go on record, one way or another. If they won't, hang their inability to pledge this around their necks publicly. This is what they would do if the tables were turned.

Until after the election. Keep in mind that Democrats only value “immigration reform” as a political tool. When they controlled the Executive Office and the Congress they dithered.

If the GOP gains both chambers, then you’ll hear nonstop accusations of racism and barbarism against the poor and tired from the DNC and the MSM, but I repeat myself.

They’ve been fools on this issue since Nixon. We haven’t needed as much immigration as we got and worse, we didn’t need the reforms Kennedy put in.

It is government policy that has driven both low birth rates and high unemployment among certain groups in America. Please don’t try to compare socialist “industrialized” nations either. Socialism is the cause of both low birthrates and high (abnormal) unemployment.
