IIRC it was known that blacks objected to the white guy taking pictures in their neighborhood. The Bee refused for a very long time to mention race but finally had to when two years later some were convicted of the crime.
These are cases where the MSM attempt to cover-up the racial aspect of black-on-white violence.
The vast majority of the time the victims are not connected to the MSM and are free to identify the race of the offenders. The MSM of course refuse to mention race much of the time.

The Federal Government does and will continue to do everything possible to suppress such groups for as long as it can muster the forces to do so.
Black criminals are not a threat to the Government. They provide convenient reasons to justify expanded State controls over all citizens. At least that works until the criminal groups burst out of control.
White Militias, organized for any defensive purpose are definitely a threat to the present Government. Who needs more police and State controls when citizens can defend themselves without them?

So such groups as Guardian Angels are destined to fail.

It is a miracle that the rule of law can ever get re-established once it breaks down. It usually takes the passing of an entire generation of gang leaders before that can happen - as noted in your link to the "Bald Knobbers".
"Rule-of-law" is fading quickly in the current times, due in large part to the inclinations of our "political elites". They do not want to be restrained in their desires by mere rules.
Once the rules are cut down, a cold wind blows across the land, and there is no shelter to be found.

What you say about time is true. However, when the streets become too dangerous for the honest law-abiding people to go about their normal lives, there will have to be changes. The first change would be that they will be afraid to conduct their normal routines—their quality of life and the overall economy will suffer.
Once they can no longer count on the presumption of a society that is largely safe and cooperative, they will find ways to adjust.
The Guardian Angels were novel and way ahead of their time. Curtis Sliwa eventually became a celebrity. The Angels were restricted in the amount of force they could use, and their numbers were too few for them to be effective.
Exactly when during the attack did the guy have time to get his gun out and use it? Cite the exact second in the video.
