welcome to the new america where “hurt feelings” mean more than “freedoms (of speech)”

All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others....

Atlanta Hawks?

That name sounds offensive and degrading to Mother Gaia’s wild birds, doesn’t it?

Maybe they should change their name to the Atlanta Muggers, the Atlanta Knock-Outs, or the Atlanta Traffic Jams.

BLACKMAIL

Well since the average NBA fan is a BLACK MALE I'd say that Levenson asked some astute questions about expanding the fan base and increasing attendance. Anyone who watched the last NBA All-Star Game's pre-game B.E.T. extravaganza might know what I'm talking about....

I enjoyed NBA and NCAA basketball back in the 1970s when it resembled basketball, but now I wouldn’t attend a Hawks game if you gave me free tickets and $500 cash. I have absolutely no interest in the excessive noise and celebration of thug culture that permeates the NBA, and could not care less if they win, lose or leave town. No interest whatsoever. And now the politicized NFL is speeding down the same road.

Nothing like telling the truth, a/k/a Valid Points, to get you business into trouble..... unless you are Spike Lee for example.
I think NBA sucks and haven’t been interested enough to watch it for years. Don’t understand where they draw the money from. Went to a Grizzlies game about ten years ago and the seats were expensive. Yet, they were giving large blocks of seats away to minorities.
Corporate Welfare back to the people?

Maybe they should call the team the Atlanta Black Hawks....

And what dId he say in this e-mail that was not true? Maybe Levenson wants out and thinks he can get more money this way than by merely announcing the team is for sale.

I am willing to go to an NBA game but I will have to be paid for my time. I am not greedy so $5000 should be sufficient.

I'm still a GS Warriors fan. The current team and ownership seem to be heading in the right direction. No thug culture on the team to speak of....

The constitution does not however guarantee no consequences for said free speech.

The Constitution protects you from government interference in your First Amendment rights. It doesn't mean that private associations that you are a member of can't use your words against you.

Were the Grizzlies owners giving away free tickets to people like you or are they just for the special privileged class?

Next thing you know they will be blaming the car companies for the White people moving out of Detroit.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver called the remarks “entirely unacceptable” and commended Levenson for self-reporting to the league office. The league will work with the Hawks to determine the appropriate sales process for the team, Silver said.

But in the mean time, unlike Sterling, Silver isn't banning him from the team for life. So will he at least help find a Sugar Daddy who will pay $2 billion for this franchise too?

Honestly.... if a person had that kind of money.... why in the world would they want to own an NBA team in this day and age? Of all the things a person could own... an NBA team?

Lots of money to be gained right now by selling your share of an NBA team. Just business....

Yep... take the money and find some other business to be in. That’s what I’d do.
