IMMIGRATION ISSUE FRONT AND CENTER IN U.S. SENATE RACE
Independent conservative U.S. Senate candidate Thomas Ravenel has launched a new radio advertisement blasting incumbent Republican Lindsey Graham on the issue of immigration.
The thirty-second spot which is running statewide highlights Grahams 2007 assertion that those who opposed his support for amnesty were bigots.
Were gonna tell the bigots to shut up, Graham said during his speech to La Raza, a Hispanic political advocacy group.
Anyone who shows such disrespect for the people of South Carolina doesnt deserve your vote, Ravenel says in the spot, later adding we shouldnt have to put up with Lindsey Grahams insults anymore.
On his website, Ravenel says Americas flawed immigration system causes the very problems we decry and that Washington politicians have been approaching the issue reflexively.
I oppose illegal immigration, amnesty for illegals, welfare benefits for illegals, the inconsistent enforcement of existing law as well as the adoption of failed policies that incentivize border-hopping, Ravenel said. I also oppose Americas failed War on Drugs which is inducing violence in Mexico and Central America and causing a flood of unaccompanied minors into our country.
Ravenel says he supports former U.S. Sen. Jim DeMints view that legal immigration avenues including a robust worker visa program are the best way to address the issue from an economic and national security standpoint.
When youre looking for the bad guys, youre looking for needles in a haystack, Ravenel said. Having over 11 million undocumented workers creates millions of forged documents, which provide cover for the bad guys.
Ravenel, Graham, Democratic nominee Brad Hutto and Libertarian nominee Victor Kocher will face voters on November 4.

How about no visas until US unemployment is under control. You know, archaic ideas like helping the decimated middle class.
Its a message that resonates with voters but not the big money contributors to Graham.
Of course, those who insist on supporting the GOP all the time will yell that voting for Ravenel would be a “wasted vote” and it would “help the Democrats” as if there’s a big difference between Graham and Democrats.
I don’t know if I would vote for Ravenel if I lived in SC, he may be an opportunist and may not be sincerely conservative.
BUT I WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR LINDSEY GRAHAM ANYTIME OR ANYWHERE.....
“How about no visas until US unemployment is under control. You know, archaic ideas like helping the decimated middle class”
I second that.
Same garbage they did in Mississippi. Using race to discredit conservative voters.
If I lived in South Carolina I would vote for Thomas Ravenel in a heartbeat. The arrogant little faggot, Lindsey Graham, thinks that Senate seat is his and he can just diss the people of South Carolina and get away with it. Well, he might not get away with it this election. Between Thomas Ravenel and the Libertarian candidate they may pull enough votes from Graham to give it to the Dem. Fine with me. We don’t need that little a-hole to win to get control of the Senate.
