Court records show that independent Senate candidate Greg Orman is embroiled in a federal lawsuit in Kansas with an international boxing equipment manufacturer.

The democrats have stolen the Senate that way ... One election at a time.
Lautenberg (NJ) was swapped in when the other candidate trailed in the polls;
Missouri (electing a dead guy to name his wife;
electing a comedian in MN by contesting votes;
It’s an odd court episode. He must have been a full-partner or silent-partner in some get-rich scheme involving boxing. He’ll have to come out and explain this one, and I have doubts that folks will believe the story.
Good. Independents elect Democrats.
Since Orman filed as an Independent, he wasn’t vetted by the Democrat Primary or by the party pros. That was probably a bad mistake. Roberts has hired a gunslinger who will be riding into Dodge shortly. These sorts of things will put Orman on the defensive and keep him there.
A lot of really unsavory people hang out around boxing.
This could get interesting.
Here is a much more detailed story:

Orman’s group founds “Ringside”, which misses a royalty payment and gets blacklisted by Everlast...so they dissolve that company and come up with “Combat Brands” and “RAL”. These 2 new companies buy the inventory of “Ringside”, which includes Everlast products, and keeps selling it.
I’m no lawyer, and have no idea how kosher this is. But it goes to court in October.
Funny. I know people that used to work for Ringside.
Dodge City, where Robert’s calls home because it’s where his friend’s recliner is.
He just shows up when there is a gunfight.
Precisely.
The ESTABS for Roberts came in and basically fired his campaign, put in their own gum-shoe and this little paragraph gets dropped on Orman, one of five in a dispute for royalty payments on sports equipment.
Simple vetting, but heck, Orman and company may win this lawsuit. One wouldn’t know that from this little paragraph bomb.
Ah, that is the “rest” of the story. Thanks very much.
It’s not a crime, but Everlast should be able to collect against the successor companies on an alter ego theory. Also might be a fraudulent conveyance.
I’m just wondering about the unpaid royalties on the ‘second hand’ merchandise. Borders on fraud in my book.
Right now, I think its just a lawsuit though.
Sounds like that would be a fraud, yes. Civil, though. Possibly criminal, depends on the facts and on state law.
