Most culturally Christian groups in the ME, like the Copts, Assyrians, Maronites, etc., do not teach salvation by grace through faith on the Lord Jesus Christ alone. They add works, sacraments, liturgy, and all the rest of the trappings of what the Bible calls "will worship" - i.e. manmade worship that replaces the gospel of grace.

Yes, it is a bitter pill. As for Sarnoff, I don’t think such a man would be suffered to exist in today’s world. If there are any with his vision and resolve, the combined weight of several of our nation’s federal entities would squash him like a bug. Such innovation in the pursuit of dissiminating truthful information on a global scale is, I fear, a thing of the past.

Now I see why people in this thread are a bit disgruntled with my remark about Cruz. My "game over" remark was intended strictly for the context of the speech that he was trying to make but gave up on, not his political career.

Senator Cruz was the invited keynote speaker at the Conference for Middle Eastern Christians. Obviously, these people didn't bestow this honor upon Senator Cruz without knowing the nature of his strongly held and often-spoken beliefs. I'm going to presume this was a set up by them. Equally obvious to me is that Senator Cruz is nobody's fool and he likewise knew the nature of his intended audience. Nevertheless, he willingly entered the lion's den, stood proudly before Middle Eastern "Christian" people, and delivered these remarks in the strong, clear voice of truth as the catcalls, boos and demands for him to stop speaking rose to a crescendo...

That makes sense to me. Sounds like Cruz had control of the audience pretty much start to finish.

The division is going to come, to defend the Western World's freedom and responsibility within a Judeo-Christian framework of values, against Islam, and there is a coterie of self-defined Christians who instead call to "defend" Christianity against Judaism. Those dupes fail to see that Christians and Jews are crew on the same ship of war, and the enemy ship is Islam, which has sworn enmity against Christianity and Judaism for 1600 years.

This would have been what started to set people off. Cruz is going tell a Christian who was saved from ISIS by Assad that Assad is the same as ISIS? That's just trolling. And it just snowballed from there.
