Impy... I don’t care what you feel about Brown. I am tired of the GOPe shoving mushy candidates my way while working day and night to kill of Conservatives... Frankly its people like you I can’t stand.. there will be no good from Brown, -D Carpetbagger from mAss holding office especially the US Senate.

Scott Brown, who has a voting record a mAss Democrat would proud of is not even close to being a Conservative...

Sorry but Ayotte was not considered a RINO she was on the edges of being a TEA Party type even with Juan McPain campaigning for her..the TEA Party supported both Ovide and Kelly.. Sarah Palin chose ovaries over the Conservative, Ovide. Sarahs input gave Ayotte the slight advantage and we are all now paying for it. You are truly clueless.

You just proved to all NH conservative you know little of NH politics... John Stephens was a true RINO, establishment chosen one and and Government bureaucrat who won the primary over the TEA party candidate by the thinnest of margins and probably with help from the Democrats pulling the independent registration shtick.. not too far off what is going in MS with Corcran..NH voters saw that and he was the only Republican that lost that year... Same thing will happen with Scoot Brown.

Expect the new Assault Weapons Ban and other reasonable gun control with Brown in the seat if he does win, which is a way long shot...If Smith was in, it would never happen... by the way Smith has always Fought the GOPe... Brown is the GOPe. I see discernment of facts is lacking... NH Conservatives will not vote for Brown, and NH Democrats put Brown up as the Republican candidate due to the open primary system abuse. NO way he will win... None.

And lets not forget what the NH GOP machine did to Benson when he went against a few RINO sponsored programs also known at the Pease Development Agency and its funding... they falsely accused him of cheating on his wife via the RINO run Union Leader news paper. What a nice little whisper campaign to make life miserable at home... Craig and Denise just rolled up their marbles and left public life... Sad because they are decent conservative types that really thought they could help NH citizens. The Gregs and Sununu’s thought differently... and made life miserable for them. So how is it any Conservative in NH should vote for the GOPe candidate?

“by the way Smith has always Fought the GOPe”

Bob Smith has always been about Bob Smith, and when he “fought the GOPe” he also fought conservative Republicans. Remember when he left the GOP to run for president for some made-up party with 0.1% support? Gave a big speech in the Senate floor blasting the GOP Senate that had approved much of the Contract with America. But then John Chafee died and the chairmanship of the Environment and Public Works Committee became available, and he quickly crawled back to the GOP and claimed the chairmanship. Smith then did a 180 on policy and became a full-throated environmentalist radical on the committee—it was as if Chafee had taken over Smith’s body. Smith turned into such a RINO that John Sununu ran to his right in the 2002 GOP Senate primary and beat him handily. Smith then made his conversion to liberal extremism complete when he endorsed JOHN F’N KERRY FOR PRESIDENT in 2004 over George W. Bush. Kerry had been a 100% liberal over his 20 years in the Senate, and your “fighting conservative” Smith decided that Kerry was the man that America needed in the White House. So if you think that Bob Smith is some sort of conservative while Kelly Ayotte is a RINO, then we can safely ignore your claims of John Stephens being a RINO.

I would have rather that the NH GOP nominate a solid conservative with the experience and profile needed to win a Senate election in the state, but unfortunately NO SUCH CANDIDATE RAN IN THE PRIMARY. Scott Brown is far less conservative than what I would prefer, but (i) his U.S. Senate voting record isn’t quite as bad as you remember (a Mass. Democrat who even hinted of voting like Brown did would be drawn and quartered by the Kennedys), (ii) he’s more conservative than his U.S. Senate voting record, and will demonstrate it when he represents NH and doesn’t have to worry about facing a MA electorate, and (iii) he actually has the skills and background required to beat the 95% liberal Shaheen in a general election. So Scott Brown was the best choice among the candidates on the NH ballot, and apparently a majority of NH Republicans agreed with my assessment.

I hope that the NH GOP starts building up a farm system by electing young conservatives to prominent office—Guinta and Garcia getting elected to Congress would be a good start. That way, future GOP Senate primaries in NH will give conservatives a viable choice for the nomination. But the 2014 Senate primary did not present such a choice, and if you thought that Bob Smith was a viable conservative then I don’t think that you know what either of those words mean.
