It's going to be another very, very hard winter in some areas. The Plains, upper Midwest have snow, while upper PA and NY State have hard frost, last night and tonight. We've had 2 days above 90° all summer. I can't remember anything in the past 25yrs like this. NOT complaining!

I agree about the hard winter...trees are losing their leaves much earlier this fall, and with the bumper crop of acorns on the ground, Im guessing Mother Nature is turning squirrels into “Preppers” ;-)
