It pains me that Idaho is not represented by 100%ers.

That is his son-in-law, the twice-arrested Dominic Lakhan. First arrest for open container (beer) while driving. Second arrest for open container, car smelling like pot leading to discovery of marijuana, also while driving.

I think that politically this may have been done so Repubs can't get pounded by the MSM about a government shutdown before midterms. No. It was done to insure a "lame duck" session.
The presumption is that the new Congress will see the Republicans in control of the Senate. And that the House will have an even more conservative tilt.
Consequently, it would be even harder to pass some controversial legislation -- such as spending bills that continue to fund Planned Parenthood and Obamacare...and, for exammple, amnesty.
The "lame duck" session will be theoretically mmore disposed toward taking such action.
In other words, extending the continuing resolution until December 11 instead of next March is a cynical means of legislating against the public's will.

Exactly. This is a bilateral agreement to lay low until the Lame Duck session (not required but Boehner will call one) which will enable departing losers to screw us all royally.
