The last line in that song came from a Wacky Plaque that was common in the mid-Sixties. It was my favorite among all of them.

Yes...I am sure i had seen the wacky plaque and it was seared...seared into my memory.

Of course my political views changed a lot over the years, and I even had a lovely chat in Miami with the Late Gen Paul Tibbets, and had my picture taken with him.

That is also among the papers that have been lost when i lost my house.

The Association: “Message of Our Love”

Almer was lucky to have Curt Boettcher as a producer and a band like the Association as proponents of his songs. The obvious influence here is the Beach Boys; Almer and Brian Wilson were to develop a friendship after a rocky start. When the Association went from Valiant to Warner Brothers, Boettcher did not come with the deal. Warners assigned legendary producer Bones Howe to take over and make them more commercial. The Association never recorded another Almer song.

I think it was the first time the Weather Service had to use the Greek letters. I don’t know how far it went because I lost count, but it went past Epsilon. That was in 2005.

It must have been before I volunteered for the Canteen and attained the rank of "Professor".

Well, the SHTF in 2011, but I wasn’t big in the canteen at that time. I was more active in “Amy’s Place” and The Prayer threads.

But there is a lot over overlap between the Canteen, Amy’s Place, “Pray For Our American Heroes”, and “Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem Threads.”

So, many people reading this will remember those dark days.

And I can thank you all AGAIN! :-)

Now, I am going to start rummaging around and see if i can find that picture of me and General Tibbetts! :-)

Tandyn Almer: “Victims of Chance”

Of the 75 songs credited to Almer, this one is a cross between Todd Rundgren and the Beach Boys. Its sound is unusual for its time. It’s a bit clunky in execution, and there are times when the ensemble is ragged. The Association, or another gifted band, could have made this a hit. The lyrics are haunting at times.

Yes...the “clunkiness” of the musical arrangement contrasts with the elegance of the photography!
