7-Eleven owners admit 'plantation' system to boost profits
New York Post ^ | September 22, 2014 | Selim Algar

A crew of crooked 7-Eleven franchise owners pleaded guilty to setting up a “plantation” system for illegal alien employees to increase profits at their Slurpee strongholds in Virginia and Long Island, according to the feds.

Five defendants copped to knowingly hiring illegal aliens, siphoning off their earnings and forcing them to live in dingy boarding homes scattered across Suffolk County, according to court papers.

The scheme skimmed a total of $2.6 million that was owed to the workers, court papers state.

When did that become illegal?

Why do so many foreign born people own places such as 711 franchises?

What does it say about them, that they freely exploited illegal aliens?

There was a rather well known restaurant in my area that operated similar to this for decades - they hired illegals only, who spoke no english. They worked in the restaurant during the day, slept in it during the night. They had pallets and so forth they would bring and roll out in the dining area itself and rest there. The owner never got caught as far as I know.

Where do they get the money to buy these franchises. You gotta’ have a pretty big stash to get a McDonald’s or 7-11. In fact, with the money it takes to buy one you’d be wealthy in Pakistan. Why did the Bushes start bringing them in here?

Muslims laugh at the idea of outlawing slavery.

This was extremely common in the late 60s and early 1970s when illegals were only washing dishes and working at car washes, being laborers and ditch diggers, and such.

The boss owned them lock stock and barrel, package deals were group housing, secrecy, cars if needed (bought from him), and low under the table wages, we got pushed out of job after job, field after field as the illegals kept coming and coming.

We wanted hourly wages, and the boss wanted what amounted to owning slaves, where he controlled all aspects of their life, and could profit off of everything from rent to junker cars, and not have to worry about overtime, weekends, night or day, or pay checks that he couldn’t manipulate and “adjust”, and take “deductions” and payments from.

Just working for sub-minimum wages and living in dingy boarding houses that Americans won't live in.

Hey! Slavery is legal back home, why not here?

Besides, with the millions of illegals that the Slimeball doesn't want to deport, the current crop of slaves will be easy to replace.

Just as an aside, I recently spent some time in Hong Kong and was shocked at how many 7-11s I saw.

There were some sections in Kowloon where there was one every 100 yards.

They were small mind you, but they certainly had a strong presence.

I think the franchise can be transferred, but many convenience stores are independent brands. In a bad neighborhood, the owner may sell out for the value of inventory paid off over time. The buyer has free labor in the form of family members. Amount of English is minimal. Just know the words for currency amounts.

Like we do when traveling to Europe. Always know the numbers from one to ten.

This happened in my hometown as well.

It was a Chinese restaurant. Good food and service.

The owner got busted because he had barracks-style bunk beds that his "employees/ slaves" would sleep on, then back to work the next day.

And anyone think that these are "rich white American guys" doing this?

Think again.

Yeah, we will always get the blame for the "excesses of capitalism" and the "legacy of slavery."

But if you run the numbers, I bet that the majority of people running these ops are not "rich white guys".

Ask the Vice President

"You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.... I'm not joking."

Legal immigrants get rights we the people can only dream about. They are given loans to open businesses and a paycheck for a year. Zoning laws are waived, which is why you see their businesses pop up at convenient locations while the citizen’s business across the street is put out of business because of the inconvenient location. See foreigners everywhere in business? It’s because our government is giving them these freebies with our tax dollars.
