merican airstrikes against ISIS targets are under way in Syria, according to a Pentagon official.

"I can confirm that U.S. military and partner nation forces are undertaking military action against ISIL [ISIS] terrorists in Syria using a mix of fighter, bomber and Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles," Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby said.

"Given that these operations are ongoing, we are not in a position to provide additional details at this time. The decision to conduct theses strikes was made earlier today by the U.S. Central Command commander under authorization granted him by the commander in chief. We will provide more details later as operationally appropriate."

A state of War is a formal diplomatic term between states. It includes financial implications, diplomatic process, and when you are war, international laws apply.

AND if we were to formally declare war, precedent states that the Executive has almost unlimited powers. Trust me, the last thing you want is the US to declare a formal state of war.

Or did you not want a technical answer?

And you have seen the proof of that where?

We are being played. I might come back tomorrow night and eat my words, but I doubt it. This is a bigger jerk-circle than Clinton ever dreamed of.

“ISIS is not AQ. ISIS wants to be a state. They would not attack us directly because they know they would lose head to head.”

I’m sure India’s government assumed that prior to Mumbai, and the Russians prior to Beslan. You’re trying to apply rational thought to subhuman demons who thirst for our blood and that of our children.

"is there some vital US interest at stake? "

How about keeping our heads attached to our shoulders?

The Isis ragheads are making 3 million dollars a day from the oilfield fields they control

Bath house Barry hasn’t put a dent in that yet.

Since he personally signs off on targets, looks like he doesn’t want to harsh their cash flow

If those oil fields are still standing tomorrow, its safe to assume this is a election driven campaign stunt

Why isn’t the president making a live speech?

They would not attack us directly because they know they would lose head to head.

You know this for sure? You would bet your and family's life on this supposition? Despite what ISIS itself says?

Nobody believed Hitler, either.

And why would Syria attack our ships or planes? ISIS is Assad's enemy, as well. He is benefitting from our action.

Could another country build a case that the multiple deaths along the Messy-can border violate human rights of the poor migrants therefore China or Russia reserves the right to take out military/enforcement assets in an effort to clear their path?

I thought about that as well. Suppose a Mexican cartel captured a Russian tourist or diplomat, and beheaded him. Does that give Russia the right to hit targets in Mexico, and perhaps in the US if any cartel members fled here?

it’s being said this campaign against ISIS is ‘geared to also take out ASSAD’....

LEt’s see how long ASSAD sits still without using his defense?

As soon as this is over we’ll be sending them cargo aircraft full of food and pallets of freshly printed cash with promises to rebuild their country.

Obama will declare victory and they’ll hold a coronation of Obama on the White House lawn. Nutcakes will be flying over the fences by then, just to touch Obama as he’s declared ruler of the universe.

Or maybe the Russians will give all the Muslims who’ve been imported into the U.S., a nice nuke to set off. Freedom, elections and travel will be halted for our own safety.

It’s a win win for Obama.

I would trust Judicial Watch far sooner than either political party.

Yet, I know this doesn’t matter to you. Your mind is made up. I’d prefer to head the enemy off at its command centers and cripple it where possible. I cringe at the fact Obama is at the helm for this, but we don’t have the luxury of waiting.

Oh no. I am capable of thinking horrible things.

But the question you always have to ask is “Why?” Why would ISIS attack us, here. What is there to gain from it?

These guys are brutal. But they are focused. And they are not stupid. They will take a shot now. I really don’t think they were before.

Doesn’t the sudden appearance of this guys “all of a sudden” concern you. They took over Fallujah how many months before they became “enemy #1”? Why weren’t they a concern then. They have been crucifying and chopping heads for years. Why was it critical now?

Every day there is some arab or Persian screaming about the Great Satan. Why do we take these guys seriously?

We are gettin played.

Pentagon states that the decision to attack Syria was made by Centcom General Lloyd Austin?
