better yet, Romney, Bush, Christie, Portman and Huckaphonie. That should split the moderate RINO’s real good. Leaving the Conservatives to coalesce behind one guy, Preferably Cruz, but I am open for any well spoken Conservative.
“I’m not saying it’s a deal killer. I realize ‘perfect is the enemy of the good’ but it is something I keep in mind when considering his potential candidacy.”
Then add any issue that liberals champion and you will likely get the same kind of wishy washy answer.
HE ISN’T A CONSERVATIVE!
Likelihood is stronger that he won't win.
You set the bar very low. The question is if Carson is the best person we have to run the country and the answer to that is, in my opinion. no.
Has Dr Carson ever run a huge international organization?
Not a slam, but I am curious.
I am in awe of his personal accomplishments, but do we need another person with little “practical” executive experience?
How about not? Let Dr. Carson prove he's more than just an engaging speaker, telling people what they want to hear, before you put him on the ticket.
That’s what bothers me about him....I’m not sure he is all that conservative!!!
Yep
Magic
Sad how so many here follow the pressure
We have had Cruz Haters in the past that pushed that thought but it is completely a false narrative. He was the attorney general of Texas and argued numerous cases before the supreme court. He was never Governor but remember some who were. Jimuh Carter, Bill Clinton etc. Being a former executive doesn't mean that much if his philosophy sucks!!! We need a man who will advance the conservative principle!!!
Novelty POTUS candidates are a waste of time. Find a better use for your time Carson.
Very wise words, sometimes I wonder about People, seems they can so easy follow the pied piper. Very dangerous is the age we live in.
I avoid an attachment to one particular candidate early in the game. It is all about choice. A one candidate voter is doomed to failure unless, of course, his candidate makes the cut.
There is nothing wrong with having a favorite, but not at the exclusion of others. Keep our options open, welcome as many conservatives as possible into the race. Make it hard for the GOP-e to decide the nominee.
It is not about Cruz, Palin, Carson or any other particular candidate. It is not about Tea Party vs Establishment or GOP vs Dems. It is not about what we are against, but what we are for. It is about getting this nation back on track. Like it or not, we have to stay in the game, even when we would rather stay home. As far as I am concerned, National Security trumps every other issue at this point in time, at home and abroad. The chances of another terrorist attack increase each day the dems remain in power. I am not willing to risk it.
To clarify, I wasn’t asking an opinion... I was just making an observation...thought I was allowed to do that here.
I agree, but that probably is not going to happen. Dr. Carson would return it to its original purpose as a central depository of education research.
I agree, he needs to run. We need to see all the best candidates in the ring. He might crack under the pressure like Rick Perry, or he may rise to the occasion.
Either way, I want as many candidates as possible so we can choose the best one to face Hillary.
And those with lots of experience have done such a wonderful job for us.
Dear Dr. Carson:
Please commit to memory the Bill of Rights.
Sincerely,
5.56mm
We need conservative media to interview our potential candidates with questions that will lead them out of their liberal shell on the issues.
” So, how much need do you see for affirmative action going forward?”
“What roll should racial quotas play in immigration?”
“What sensible gun laws could be enacted to fight urban crime?”
“Do you favor increased funding for failing public schools, or are other options needed?”
“What could be done to improve social programs like welfare and food stamps?
“What roll should government play in healthcare?”
“What restrictions, if any, should be placed on abortion?”
“When it comes to trade, what restrictions should be placed on imports and exports?”
“What tax reforms would you like enacted?”
“Define the typical American family?”
Force them to answer the questions, it’s not that hard to weed out the liberals.
You are. And others are allowed to comment on your observations.
I really love how Carson can throw an insult in such a southern way. He is soft spoken but his words are powerful and to the point.
