Sounds like they were looking for an out anyway. Almost like it was an accident they ever funded a conservative group. How's that for inclusiveness? The sound of tolerance is deafening.

Just more evidence that Google is wrongheaded. Watch out for any individual privacy you think you might still have. Google’s intention is to “ know the world.”

A bit off topic, but is there a reliable search engine that is conservative or at least politically neutral?

DuckDuckGo is a privacy-focused search engine. Not sure about any ideological leanings.

I'm not quite sure about the political slant of the developers, but DuckDuckGo is a good search engine which *doesn't* track your information or searches... and the quality of the searches has been getting better by leaps and bounds. The founders seem to be of the libertarian sort, at least insofar as internet privacy is concerned...

Google removed one of their most useful search functions:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/websearch/Psb6OmlLJTg[501-525-false]

I used to be able to search for user comments about my product.

:) Beat me to it!

Also, if you use Firefox (yeah, I know... they have issues, too!), there’s a search bar plugin called “DuckDuckGo Clean”, which acts akin to a “privacy/incognito” mode, but without invoking a full-fledged privacy mode (i.e. there’s no record of your searches on your computer’s history if you use it).

The only shock here is that they ever funded any conservative group.

As usual, just follow the money.

This thread tells me the Google Corporation is heavily invested in wind farm and solar equipment manufacturing.
