Only three Republicans voted against Ginsburg, even though she had an extremely liberal record as a judge, had been chief legal counsel for the ACLU, and refused to answer many questions at her confirmation hearings. Interesting the Ginsburg nomination came after the brutal Bork and Thomas confirmation hearings where the Democrats gleefully used every scorched earth tactic to keep a conservative off the court.
