I worked in a 4 star hotel when I was young. It doesn’t matter if it is a 4 star or fast food, but the morals and cleanliness of the wait staff and chefs. You’d be just as surprised by what goes on in the expensive joints too.
If I’m not mistaken at that time, you at least had to get a health food permit. Not anymore, who knows what diseases the staff has. They are not tested.
Exactly. When I went to high school in the San Diego area, a lot of college age acquaintances worked as room service waiters at a particular 5 star resort/spa that catered to celebrities, politicians and the very affluent. The things I heard regarding food preparation were shocking. Many an "A" list celebrity, Senator, and on one occasion a sitting President, would be appalled to know that spit wasn't the only disgusting bodily fluid that found its way into their food.
A few times a year immigration agents would come through demanding to see green cards. Many of the illegal wait staff would be given free bus rides across the border, only to reappear a few weeks later and be given back their jobs. But, the stories I heard of food tampering didn't come from the illegals, rather it was from entitled middle class kids who resented the fame and wealth of the customers they served.
Eating in any restaurant is a crap shoot. You pays your money and you takes your chances.
