You nailed it FRiend. However I would take a broader approach:
Just another run of the mill case of work place violence.
They will never do it. Probably still bringing more in.
If she had shot him, the left and some of our insane cop-hating FReepers would be out shrieking police violence and calling for her head. Metaphorically speaking, at least.
Anti-cop propaganda is one of the things that prevents a decisive reaction in these cases. She was afraid to shoot a black person, somebody who probably was identifiably Muslim (he had already converted by then and probably had the weird beard) and under conditions in which she knew she’d be attacked both by the left and the right.
I think cops need more support. They’re going to be our only line of defense, because Obama’s military is going to be completely disempowered or off in Africa getting diseases.
Are there bad cops? There’s bad anything.
Are they too PC? Most people don’t realize that police departments are entirely under the control of the political wing of whatever government they report to (municipal, state, etc.) and that being a cop is very politicized and prevents decent reactions. But most cops would go with their sheepdog instincts, and what really prevents this is lack of popular support and the feeling that cops should take a bullet for you and then have you sitting out there saying they really shouldn’t have been mean to the bad guy or maybe they should have been faster on finding the wallet you dropped in the parking lot or getting back the racing bike you left unchained on the porch...well, I think we all get the idea.
I was thinking last night that if there were any onlookers, maybe instead of being frozen in fear (like I would have been), figure out a way to fight back with what is at hand as most people aren’t and won’t be armed with a gun in the workplace. The first victim was probably totally disabled after the first strike and it’s not clear if she was more or less alone at her post or what.
A crying state trooper facing the cameras. He broke her arm during their encounter? Well, lets just say another round of political correctness has resulted in death to an innocent person. Another great example of why women have no place patrolling the streets as cops and trying to make us believe they are the equal of big male cops. Well done PC addicts.
My question is why was this guy out of jail? He was in jail for assaulting this LE officer and for escaping jail once? Why was he back on the street so soon?
That’s one of the questions I would like answered. Was this woman alone in a front room or something? She was stabbed first, did no one realize what was happening until it was too late? Thinking of an office environment, maybe throw something heavy at the lunatic; a 3-hole punch, staplers, binders, books? I am not criticizing her co-workers at all, I don’t know how I would react, but it’s just a question I’ve had since I first heard the report ... it just makes me sick to think what horror this woman faced, most likely, alone.
ditto here.
“Thats one of the questions I would like answered. Was this woman alone in a front room or something? “
Or why wasn’t she or one of her co-workers armed? The sad part of all of this is that the reserve deputy COO had to go to his car and get his AR before he could shoot this dog.
Officer msut be careful he might get a heavier sentence than the head lopper for insulting islam the so called religion of peace
Me too, but there is no way to know. This isn’t minority report with its pre-crime unit....
But your thoughts mirror mine, throw something, do something, get them off their guard. I know I tend to be cowardly but sometimes when the chips are down, I will find strength I didn't know I had. And I am not seeking more gory details either. I would just like to give victims of this kind of crazy better odds. It's jihadi terrorism; I don't care how the media unspins it.
The criminal justice system is a revolving door!
Oklahoma locks so dang many people up for non-violent offenses that the prisons are bursting at the seams. To reduce the pressure far too many are let out early for good behavior, or for the fact they know how to game the system. Oklahoma needs to send the potheads to rehab and lock violent offenders, like Nolen, up for good. In the end, Oklahoma’s get tough on crime attitude doesn’t work well because there will never be enough resources to lock every violator up for every crime under the sun. Thus, the state winds up letting some really bad characters go to relieve overcrowding when they should be doing long amounts of time.
I wish he had killed the sob too. It would have saved us a lot of money.
Now he is the “alleged” perpetrator. Our legal system is such a farce.
That police officer is a hero, period.
Amen.
However, she MUST stop beating herself up playing coulda-woulda-shoulda.
That’s what we were wishing too.
