Must not be very hilly in your neck of the woods, lol. Those old MB diesels are great cars but acceleration is not a word I’d associate with them. Slowly gathering momentum is more like it.

Mine is the turbo diesel, the most powerful of the W123 models. It’s still no drag racer.

I drove a Mercedes 300D in Germany and it was no slouch. 200 km/h on the Autobahn and no trouble getting there. The 240D was another matter.
