God Save Us from the Loud 'I'm Staying Home This Year' Conservatives

By Jim Geraghty

A few thoughts from the middle of the day . . .

God save us from self-professed "conservatives" who will announce they'll stay home on Election Day as a demonstration of their power.

Because as we all know, you become more influential in politics and government and public life by staying home and doing less.

....

Does the "I'm staying home" crowd apply this to everything in life? "I don't like the way the company is run, so I'm not going to work."

"Honey, I'm just not happy with your performance as a spouse, so I'm going to be less active in the marriage until you improve."

"Kids, I'm disappointed with your performance in school. Until you improve, I'm ignoring you."

The thing is, I wonder how often the "I'm staying home this year" crowd voted before. In fact, I wonder if they ever vote.

I don't understand the "I've never been more fearful for the future of this country, but I'm not willing to do anything about it" mentality.

Ronald Reagan is not walking through that door, folks.

Where’s that Romney conservatism that would prove he is worth voting for under your logic?

We’re still waiting.

>>You still have not shown us any viable conservatism from Romney. Where is it?<<

So now you are going after a straw man, eh liar?

You said I was pushing liberalism. I challenged you to show one post where I have done so. You now are bobbing and weaving.

I understand how terrible it is for you to be outed as a damn liar.

Take your medicine and call it a night, liar.

Still waiting. It was YOUR idea to say vote for the MOST conservative.

I simply said to prove which was. Obama or Romney.

And you wont.

The Republican party really wants to hear only one thing from conservatives:
Master Republican guide us. Master Republican teach us. Master Republican protect us. In your light we thrive. In your mercy we are sheltered. In your wisdom we are humbled. We live only to serve. Our lives are yours.

Why would you expend all this effort arguing with someone you claim is a liar? Are you trolling? Because no one likes a troll.

Now if you think Barry is less conservative than the guy you ‘admonished’ us for not voting for, please do post examples of his severe conservatism in office.

What did the GOP do to encourage conservatives to stay home or vote third party? It nominated Myth Romney, baby killer, gun grabber, "gay" everything supporter, etc., etc., etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseam. What more did it have to do?

The GOP lost in 2012 at the moment the POS Romney was nominated. I voted for Rick Santorum also as he was buried under the most despicable advertising avalanche the GOP-E ever BOUGHT.

I was not going to vote for Romney in any event but the viciousness of the wall-to-wall advertising avalanche guaranteed that not only would I vote third party in 2012 for FR's own Eternal Vigilance (my first non-Republican POTUS vote in 44 years since I started voting) but that I shall never vote for another establishmentarian POS leftist in GOP drag for ANY office EVER again.

And this year, McConnell bragged that he would crush the TEA Party challengers. OK, now it is time for the TEA Party to strike back in the general election against McConnell's buddies like Thad Cockroach. We are just tooooo crushed to vote for the whores ever again.

And continuing CR’s, and Common Core, and increases in the debt limit, and cutting military spending, and raising the minimum wage, and more unemployment benefits, and increases in welfare spending.

Why am I not wrong? They have done it before over and over and over. I’ll bet, like Trent Lott, if they get the Senate with 52-54 seats they’ll “power share”.

F them all.

In addition, those vote margins would have had to come from areas where conservatives were, very recently, voting in bigger numbers and are still in the same place. They are not.

Denver is a good example. McCain got a little over 60,000 votes in 2008. Romney got 9,500 more votes in 2012 than McCain got in 2008.

That’s a pattern I’ve seen when I checked 2008 vs. 2012. Whoever the conservatives were who ‘stayed home’, they are not statistically significant.

Primaries are over. Now is the time to vote for the most conservative candidate. Nothing further, just bear in mind YOU have the vote to empower Cruz, Lee and others.

We will punish the RINOs later, after we fire Harry Reid.

You DO want to fire Harry Reid, don’t you?
