Analyst: Tillis doing worse with white voters than Dole in 2008, Romney in 2012 (& McCrory got 70%)

Over at the conservative web site Ace of Spades HQ, we’ve got some more eye-opening analysis on the Senate race:

[...] Senator Hagan’s thin lead suggests a close race, much like what we saw in Alaska, Colorado, and Iowa, but unlike her collegues there, she has managed to stay ahead.

(SNIP)

As you can see, not even Elizabeth Dole, who lost her seat in 2008 by an 8-pt margin, did as poorly with white voters as Tillis is doing now. She carried them by 18-pts.

What’s this guy Tillis’ issue? Is he a big RINO or something? Or just more lib white people in the state now-a-days?

I’m guessing it’s more of the latter. The northerners move down south to avoid the taxes, then want to vote for Democrats.

I watched a portion of a Tillis-Hagan debate and all I saw was the two candidates trying to praise government employees with Hagan talking about “math teachers” and Tillis about “first responders” (police and fire).

Not very inspiring because our country is so deep in the hole because of unsustainable salaries and benefits for employees like those mentioned above.

I am a government employee myself and understand this.

Tillis is a Romney supported RINO in the first place in my estimation anyway. He defeated a more conservative candidate in the priumary.

He’s boring and running a poor campaign (regardless of RINO)...and the latter is probably also accurate, unfortunately. Romney carried it in 2012 narrowly but Obama won in 2008 along with Dole losing the Senate race - previously a solid red state.

The demographics are changing, and not for the better. Too many white libs in the state now. Libs will continue to move south to environmentally pretty states and then screw those states up too.

pre May primary polls showed Greg Brannon the only one in that election to easily win in November against Hagan....but Rove and the GOPe wanted Tillis, so in came the big bucks......and I dont believe that Brannon has yet to endorse Tillis....Pagan Hagan is pouring on the coals with liemercial after liemercial...targeting the LIV...and getting results..Tillis’ commercials are lame at best..

Bland candidate, who doesn’t stand up for conservative principles (in his campaign). QUIT LISTENING TO THE D.C./RALEIGH CONSULTANT CLASS (They’re not Conservative, and they hate the base).

I don't know if he's a RINO or not. But I do know that he was the GOPe’s designated candidate (you know, the one considered “most electable” like Tommy Thompson, George Allen ad nausium) against the conservatives running in the primary.

The Demographics haven't changed that much in 2 years. Tillis is the worst candidate running for an open seat. December 2012 Tillis:“The other thing we’re going to do is send a very clear message to Washington that they can make our job a lot easier if they would deal with the issue that they’ve kicked down the road – Republicans and Democrats – for many, many years.” http://www.hpe.com/news/x1576248598/McCrory-accuses-furniture-industry-on-illegal-labor August 2013: The GOP governor accused High Point area manufacturers of backing a bill McCrory vetoed that allows employers extra time to verify the legal status of a worker. The N.C. General Assembly this week overrode McCrory’s veto from earlier this summer of legislation that extends from three months to nine months the amount of time an employee can draw a paycheck without having his or her legal status cleared though a federal database known as E-Verify. http://www.newsobserver.com/2013/08/15/3109599/mccrory-vetoes-first-bill-drug.html Tillis said the immigration bill was designed to help alleviate the problems that employers in the state face because of federal immigration procedures and policies. “The regulatory burden and complexity caused by federal inaction requires us to consider stop-gap measures while we wait for politicians in D.C. to take action,” he said. “This bill received strong bipartisan support and sought to provide clarity to employers and agencies regarding the impact of illegal immigration in North Carolina.” http://www.newsobserver.com/2013/08/15/3109599/mccrory-vetoes-first-bill-drug.html#storylink=cpy

Campaign manager: Jordan Shaw.
Artcle desperately needs to say who the campaign manger is LOL!

Perhaps he’s not up to a statewide campaign or is unable to please both Karl Rove and North Carolina...

When you nominate a milquetoast candidate, you’ll get milquetoast support, a milquetoast turnout, and a democrat victory! I’m SURE the democrats just LOVE it when the Republicans do it, election after election. It keeps them in power.

The “republican” consultants still earn millions making it happen though.

Just ask Mitt.....

Simple observation. The guy sounds like a bore but if nobody knows he’s a RINO, do we have to oppose him? Not every senator is a great orator, smart, etc. But we still need some.

Remember back in 2010 how the beltway pundits bashed the tea party folks for fielding bad candidates and cost the republicans the Senate?(and they probably did, truth be told)

Well, this year, the GOPe might throw the Senate, or narrowly win, for supporting pathetic establishment candidates over solid conservatives that could have won those seats.(KS, KY, NC)

At least we were able to be rid of Cantor.

Im not saying to oppose him but it makes sense that he is not polling well.

Hopefully the next Speaker of NC House of Reps becomes more conservative than Tillis if Tillis wins.

Perhaps someone should point out that Kay Hagan's willingness to vote with Obama 96% of the time, and her repetition of the lie, "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor," while, at the time she uttered the words, she knew full well that she was giving her fellow North Carolinians false and misleading information, those two facts, alone, should preclude any right-thinking citizens from doing anything but voting for Tillis!!

If any who purport to love the Founders' Constitution will stay at home in order to prove some other point, then they are not honoring that Constitution nor the millions who have died to protect it and their own freedom.

Nothing could be worse for NC's representation in Washington than to give Democrats, and Harry Reid/Obama, the victory in this election!
