Under Texas law, the controlling health authority, Dallas County Health in this case, is legally required to inform in writing the individuals subject to a public health control order.

Their signatures were likely required for informed consent because the local health authority will be administering medical treatment/tests and because they are subject to prosecution for violating the order. (Kind of like when an officer has you sign a speeding ticket. You make an acknowledgment by your signature.)

Anyone hear of Putin having Ebola in his country? No, didn’t think so.

My understanding is that it is a fecal matter.

And handed the pen to their kid to do homework with that evening. Junior would probably chew on it while he munched on Cheetos and licked the cheese powder off his fingers and today his teacher is grading a paper with strange orange smears. No, probably not infectious but it just takes one slip up to send it into the wild.

And if it is, what do we do? Think the economy was bad after 9/11? Imagine an ebola outbreak panic.

Hard as I tried, I couldn’t find ONE that was regulated for Ebola cleanup.

...because he considers it a federal issue and not a local matter.

So where the heck are the Feds??? The CDC suits keep telling us they have this under control, and yet we see no evidence that they're doing nothing other than telling its under control.

Everything is "optics" with this stupid administration.

And Obama is sending over 3000 American military troops into Ebola country. I would go AWOL in a heartbeat.

I read two days ago that for every 100 people who come into contact with an Ebola patient, 5 become infected.

As we know that PZ came into contact with about 100 people, I’m expecting 5 cases. (That’s if the CDC’s numbers are correct. They may very easily be off by a factor of 100 - considering they aren’t even factoring in the apartment manager and the guy who power washed the vomit.)

And what would the deputies do if the individuals refused to sign the papers - arrest them? </rhetorical question >
