A Payson man just back from Liberia says he's doing everything he can to make sure there's no chance the virus can spread.

While Allen Mann doesn't think he has the disease, he's taking precautions to protect the community.

Since September 20, he has quarantined himself with his family inside his home and they'll stay there for 21 days -- the length of Ebola's incubation period.

Where are the local health officials and the accompanying CDC personnel???

How can the people of Payson and the entire state of Arizona be certain that this missionary is able to fully carry out the proper protocols of a quarantine, without risking the lives of others, and that he also has the proper equipment to do so? The fact is, that nobody can be sure?

Missionaries are protected by their faith in God and a whole lot of other peoples money for their treatment should they get infected.

So you really think that the keystone cops in charge at the Dallas fiasco will keep you safe from Ebola or any other danger. That kind of blind faith is not only foolish, it is dangerous.

He’s risking his OWN families life. He should have quarantined himself in Liberia. We have too many idiots running around willy nilly!!

I’m glad my days of international flying for business are over. I’d hate to be boarding a plane in Europe wonder if someone returning from the Ebola plagued areas was on board and I’d be breathing the same recirculated air or potentially using the same restroom.

If this missionary flew on a commercial plane after being exposed to the disease, and not being sure he wasn’t infected, he did a great disservice to his fellow passengers. Also, to then potentially expose his family and lock them up for three weeks doesn’t seem to be a very Christian act.

A prepper could quarantine for 21 days but most people can’t. Hopefully, he has people who can bring food to the door.

Wow. A responsible adult.

Too bad most Americans are not of his caliber. Americans are so selfishly obsessed with their *rights* and *nobody can tell me what to do* that it never occurs to them to think of someone besides themselves.

So what else do you propose they do with him?

Would you rather have the GOVERNMENT take steps to ensure that he does not infect others?

Have you been following the efforts the government has been making to contain Ebola?

You trust them to make the right decision? And protect us all?

I tried explaining that in another thread.

But apparently if you are a Christian missionary, you are afforded some sort of special pass by some here to come back to the US with a case of a lethal sickness.

The game of Ebola Roulette continues...

*click* spin *click* spin *click* spin…BANG!

Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!

Bring Out Your Dead

We’re gonna need

a bigger cart!

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death... .

the keystone cops in charge at the Dallas fiasco

More at Barnum & Bailey or Ringling Brothers.

I noticed at the CDC presser they were very careful to tell what they were doing -- in Africa, while ignoring Dallas until they got a few questions from the press. In 'answering' those questions, they reverted to boilerplate gobbledygook:
Those were EPIC FAIL in Dallas.

I summarized the presser this way:

I believe in limited government, but when it comes to wars or pandemics...... Then yes I would like to see them do their job.

I guess you do want them to do anything, and let the pandemic come into our country???

He wasn’t showing symptoms ...so he wasn’t contagious...

he was perfectly fine to fly commercially.

He wasn’t showing any symptoms when he flew so I think self quarantine is a good thing. I think it’s selfish of this good Christian to include the rest of his family. And does he want a pat on the back for advertising it?? None from me....at least for 21 days.
