GOP edge grows in final stretch

With one month until Election Day, Republicans' chances for retaking the Senate and picking up seats in the House are improving.

The GOP has been buoyed by positive public polling, while red-state Democrats are still struggling to find distance from President Obama. There are bright spots and even some unexpected new targets on the map for both parties, but the overall national environment seems to have ticked a bit toward Republicans.

The GOP needs to win a net of six seats to retake control of the Senate, and Republicans seem better-positioned to do so now than they did through much of the summer.

Democrats must hold their own for a decent election night, and they’re putting their faith in their vaunted ground game for the final stretch.

Both sides say control of the upper chamber is still very much at play, and Republicans certainly aren’t taking a victory lap just yet.

When they say:

“putting their faith in their vaunted ground game”

They’re talking about Democrat cheating and vote fraud.

Is President “Ebola” working its magic? I’ve heard somewhere that the dems are starting to lose the “moms” demographic (18 to 40ish women) due to the mishandling of the ebola situation.

Almost time to que ‘How to rip defeat from the jaws of Victory and keep your streak alive!’. Part ????

The Brits tried to do a Royal Flush in 1812

I’d settle for flushing half a House and Senate

And neutering a WH occupant’s powers.

It’s just like in The Stand, everything was ‘under control’ until that one guy, Campion, busted out of the base.

Duncan is zero’s Campion.

Wish I could ping Stephen King.

Odds of GOPe losing the Senate in 2016 - 99%.

Will Ditch do anything useful in the next two years? Not bloody likely.

The bad side to this is it means RINO House members will be elected or re-elected. It had been looking like we’d have a conservative majority in the caucus.
Conservatives should increase their numbers anyway.

If the GOP doesn’t win a bunch more than 6 seats this time they’re not likely to keep the Senate in 2016. They need to win a big buffer to be able to hold off the Dems in 2016 when the GOP will be defending 24 seats to the Dems 10... and 7 of the GOP’s seats will be in blue states that Obama carried in 2012.

One dark spot is the probable loss of the Pennsylvania governor’s race by Republican Tom Corbett - but he released a great new ad this week - five or six vignettes of “voters” looking into the camera and saying things like “When it comes to a choice of paying for my children’s education and paying taxes, I’ll take taxes every time” and “I hope Wolfe keeps his promise and raises our taxes - he knows Harrisburg can spend our money better than we can” - may get people thinking - miracles do happen sometimes......

I'm asking them on twitter, "Are you willing to martyr your children for this president and his party"?

Getting Harry Reid out of the drivers seat would be meaningful enough.

I think in 2016 a whole lot of those Demon Rat states will be sorry they voted for Obama.
