Woman Interrupts Restaurant Patrons With Tears and Screams...(Video at link)
The Blaze ^ | October 6, 2014 | Mike Opelka

You are sitting in a restaurant, enjoying your breakfast, when a very emotional woman enters the dining room and begins sharing the story of her “little girl named Snow.”

There is only one small problem with the accuracy in the woman’s story. “Snow” is not a little girl, she is a chicken.

The woman in the restaurant (and the video attached below) is Kelly Atlas. She is an Oakland, California-based activist, organizer and designer with Direct Action Everywhere. The group’s website says that it strives to “create a world where animal liberation is a reality.”

Atlas and other Direct Action followers are currently on a campaign to tell people who eat meat, fish, poultry, dairy or eggs that they need to change and stop eating animals.

When they target a business, several members assemble in a flash mob type protest. Typically, one person announces Direct Action’s message and other members will carry signs with the slogan, “It’s not food, it’s violence.”

After entering the restaurant, Atlas begins a tearful rant about how her “little girl” was “abused for her entire life.”

Look, I’ll be the very first person to agree that factory farming of chickens is completely inhumane, it truly is, anyone who believes its not is not remotely familiar with it at all.

However, part of the reasons it has gotten so inhumane is because of idiotic groups like this.

You can’t have your chicken barns open, so that fresh air can get in and ventilate, because radical folks like this will show up with video cameras, and film what they view to be abuses... and yes folks some things that go on are without question abuse.

However, because of folks like this filming, chicken barns are not open, so these chickens live their entire lives sweltering and being gagged by the ammonia created by their own waste. So, what is not a great life to begin with is even MORE inhumane.

I will be among the first to advocate laws do need to be changed around the treatment of these animals, but people like this group are just idiots.

Yes, these animals are bred and destined to be slaughtered, however that does not mean they should not be given basic respect while alive. CHicken farming is not what it used to be, it is indeed cruel to the birds, and not just oh they are going to die type cruel I mean they deserve better in their time on this planet type cruel.

With all that said however, this person and the folks and groups like her are just flat out idiots. Their hijinks do nothing to help anyone or anything but themselves.

Good post! There certainly should be controls that ensure animals are treated humanely. I’m 100% on board with that.

I was gonna say, I hope she walks into a Texas Roadhouse while I’m eating rib eye...I’ll chomp with my mouth open and let the juices dribble down my chin...right in their faces!

My Nebraska in-laws saw their chickens off in a humane manner.
They stepped on the chicken’s head and then grasped the little feathered body and pulled its head off.
There was no undignified running around headless and they could squirt the blood where they wanted.

I heard about this crazed PETA woman on the radio this morning, but the one talking about the rainbow in the sprinkler spray is a real LIV.

Just like the people in the thread I posted in “Chat” earlier who didn’t know who Joe Biden is when asked by Jimmy Kimmel’s “On the street interviews”.

I hope that works, it should *fingers crossed* be to an image I mentioned.
If not, try here or here.
Three different images, all showing a squirrel eating a bird.

If she did that in my restaurant, she would be arrested for disturbing the peace with a signed complaint to the local law enforcement officer. Further, she would be "trespassed" so the next time she enters the property it would be a criminal act. If every restaurant owner that she abuses in that fashion would just grow a spine, she could have a nice long criminal record and perhaps some accommodations at the local gray bar hotel.

The problem with these kinds of idiots is that they aren’t satisfied with more humane treatment of farm animals - they believe that “meat is murder” and want it ended altogether. That’s not a program I’ll be signing up for anytime soon. I have reservations about the way livestock (chickens and pigs, particularly) are treated, enough to make me reconsider where my meat comes from and how much of it I want to eat - but not enough to make me believe that eating meat is inherently immoral.

I’m not sure, but I think that this is a sign of somebody who spends too much time in the kitchen...

Don’t forget to keep Porky’s fat in the fridge when you fry him up — it’s better than Bessie’s churned baby food for frying Snow’s unborn! Mmmm-mmmm Porky flavor on Snow’s unborn is something you don’t want to miss!

Were it my restaurant, I would ask them to leave. If they didn’t, they’d get a meat-powered beatdown, probably severe enough to put them in intensive care.

If I were a patron at a restaurant, and someone like this mentally-ill freak interrupted my meal with their insane rant, I’d also likely administer the meat-powered beatdown.

Let ‘em sue me. F’ em.

I’m not arguing that meat should be off the menu, and have no place for those who wish to force no meat onto others. I enjoy meat, but like you I am not in denial about the inhumanity that exist in the modern factory farming practices that raise it.

Industrialization is incredibly efficient, but it can equally heartless and inhumane.

I think one of the problem with our nation today, is that like it or not, the extremes of both ends, work their best to create blindness for the rest of the population.

Like, here for example, if I posted a video showing the inhumane treatment that factory chickens endure in their brief lives on this planet, there is no doubt someone would show up calling me a communist, or anti-business or a bleeding heart.... and ignoring the benefits it has provided. Equally if I went to DU and posted a video explaining how industrial farming has managed to drive down prices, help feed far more people and provided a net benefit, I’d be screamed at for being capitalist swine and supporting of cruelty to animals etc etc etc.

The reality is, on most issues, both sides, generally do have valid points and concerns, but instead of focusing on those real issues, the extremes on both ends keep the rest distracted from the things we could probably work together on to resolve, by latching onto insanely radical examples of the others side and using those as reasons to dismiss all arguments of the other.

Our political system right now, because the people are largely being so blinded, doesn’t lead, and work in any way to come up with viable reasonable solutions to problems, because anyone working with the other side on any issue, is portrayed by the radicals as enemy number one. Its insanity right now. So, rather than risk the wrath of the radicals, often on their own side, they just take publicly contrarian views of their opposition.

The reality is, ever family has that crazy uncle, who is often a bit to loud and for the most part is let be, but every so often the patriarch of the family, puts him back in his place to keep him in line. We all love that crazy uncle, but we would never let them run the show, and that seems to be the folks influencing most things right now, there doesn’t seem to be any leadership, telling them ENOUGH, sit down and shut up, we are going to deal with the reality of this.

Well, there you go. Squirrels do indeed eat birds. Nuts = protein. Birds = protein. Upon further reflection, I suppose it does make some sense.

Google praying mantis eating or spearing bird. That is quite educational.
