And the computers they programmed on? Wouldn’t have been much need for programmers if it hadn’t been for the work of MEN like Turing, Charles Babbage, Lee de Forrest, John Atanasoff, Clifford Berry, Herman Hollerith, William Shockley, and a host of others.

The female contribution is the "compiler" that allows programming to be done in something besides assembler. Do you know how important that step is to computing?

You must be quite insecure. This bit of history is not stealing anything from anyone. Facts are facts, and compilers are a big deal for computing.

I am a man who began working along the software/hardware interface line in 1972. I suspect I've written software for more machines than you probably know existed. I have definitely "made my mark".
