The Criminalization of Heartland Christianity
Juicy Ecumenism ^ | 10/7/14 | Rick Plasterer

The coercive program of homosexual liberation, cloaked as always in the language of love and justice, and backed ultimately by court edicts and intense political and social pressure, is now working its way into the American heartland, just as it is working its way into the church in this and other Western countries. Last year IRD reported on controversy in Springfield, in southwestern Missouri, where a proposed ordinance for homosexual rights prompted a dispute between local clergy over the meaning of the gospel as it pertains to homosexuality, and an eloquent defense of Biblical morality by Dr. George O. Wood, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, which has its headquarters in Springfield. Local controversy over the ordinance led the city council to table the issue in the past.

Today, the efforts to LGBT rights activists in Missouri are close to a significant victory. Next week, on October 13th, the Springfield City Council will vote on a proposal to criminalize discrimination based on “sexual orientation and gender identity”.

How long until persecution promotes a backlash? A violent one.

There are not enough steers in America, and it is becoming too filled with queers.

I shall not change my attitude unto them.

Let the backlash begin, since queers are only 2 to 3 % of the population, and by majority rule, do not have the right to make the 97% bow to them!

Ultimate goal of the left - criminalize Christianity so that they can use the gov’t, preferably one-world gov’t, to punish and exterminate them.

So how are they going to deal with Islam when there are no more Christians left to do the heavy lifting.

The issue with these perverts is a multi-layered one and we need to choose our grounds carefully (iudica me Deus et discerne meum causam de gente non sancta, ab homine iniquio et doloso erue me).

To attack them openly is to invite the label of intolerance.

At this point our best bet is to fight THEM on the grounds of intolerance when they insist people of faith MUST accommodate their perversions, I.e. Christian bakeries being forced to make cakes for homosexuals, our children being instructed about homosexuality. As for marriage, we might be better off having the state recognize domestic partnerships purely from a fiscal issue and leave what constitutes a “marriage” to the churches. We are better positioned to fight them there.

While we should be innocent as doves, we MUST be wise as serpents.

My worst instinct here is that the churches are going to end up, if they want to preserve, have their own incorporated trades, enterprises, etc. If the Catholics want to have some wedding paraphenalia where it doesn’t have to sell to SSC, then why not set up a business that is specifically contracted, or incorporated into the Catholic Church, so that you only cater to Catholics, or only cater to what Churches are on your contract. That way, you are not a service or business that caters to the general public, and by being a public business, The Civil Rights Act applies to you. It’s not cool, but at the same time, I don’t know how much longer we are going to have to deal with it.

“How long until persecution promotes a backlash? A violent one.”

Not until there is a general civil war.

Nope. There’s this little thing called the Interstate Commerce clause that the USSCt has used to apply equal protection requirements to prohibit racial discrimination by any business that touches interstate commerce. They interpreted the reach broadly enough to include things like a restaurant buying napkins sold across state lines. If the government wants to stop what they perceive as unfair discrimination, they’ll find a justification, and call it constitutional. It’s only a piece of paper, and it won’t get in their way.

The Federal Government needs to be whittled down to what the constitution requires of it - nothing more.

“The Federal Government needs to be whittled down to what the constitution requires of it - nothing more.”

Jefferson seemed to think that can’t always be accomplished peacefully: “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” We’ll see how it plays out. I’ve seen liberty and its necessary moral foundation dying in this country over several decades, not kicking and screaming but with a whimper and a sense of inevitability. Conservatives are up in arms on message boards like this one about homosexual marriage and the erosion of values that made American families and society strong. Where are their public protests? Where were they when Reagan signed the first no-fault divorce bill in 1969 and opened the floodgates to destroy American families? Who’s speaking up for the children now that are victimized by the epidemic of broken homes? The revolution this country needs is not political or economic— its a moral. Until we get that fixed, we can’t hope to reclaim the America that once was or to be different from any other materialistic and divided country on earth.
