More than a dozen states plan to cancel health care policies not in compliance with ObamaCare

"If you move here you can get an advantage plan with no monthly premium"

HMO Advantage Plans without monthly premiums may be available in your location. I live in a rural area so advantage plans are more limited and HMO Advantage Plans are even more limited.

I enrolled Nov 2009 and came in under 2010 plans. At that time Windsor offered two HMO plans and Humana offered one HMO plan. All three had no monthly premium. But each varied with the copays and maximum yearly out of pocket costs.

I enrolled in the Windsor HMO plan that excluded mental healthcare, because that plan had the lowest copays, and the lowest maximum yearly out of pocket costs

But, Obamacare ushered in a rule that forced all the insurance companies to include mental healthcare in all their plans. So, in 2012, Windsor's plan included mental health care. The monthly premium was still $0, but the copays and maximum out of pocket costs were higher than Humana's.

So, in 2013, I switched to Humana's HMO plan. And stayed there in 2014. But, two weeks ago the Humana 2015 book came in and they are going to a $23/mo premium for 2015.

I can switch back to Windsor for the $0/mo premium but they have developed such a bad reputation that Medicare has issued a warning about the company. And, Windsor will probably start charging a monthly premium in 2016.

Since 2009 I have been in a HMO plan, but each year the copays and max out of pocket costs have gone up.

Some of this is attributable to Obamacare and some to rising costs of healthcare. But I knew this would happen when I enrolled in 2009. Then and now the HMO plans are cheaper than the PPO Advantage Plans. Then and now the HMO plans are cheaper than traditional medicare with a medigap supplemental policy.

That is based on my present health condition. If my condition were to change, my needs on insurance could also change. Whatever you do, it is only for one year.

Republicans need to hang support for ObamaCare around the neck of every Dem that supported it, and draw a high price for their destruction of our health insurance sector.

INCONVENIENT FACTOID

As far back as 2008, at the presidential debate in Nashville, Democrat candidate Obama advanced his signature plan that was ultimately enacted (by an historic straight Democrat party-line vote) into the "Affordable Care Act:

OBAMA: "No. 1, let me just repeat, if you’ve got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All I’m going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. You’ll still have choice of doctor.”

Repeated over and over ---- with the promise that every American would be saving $2500.00 on healthcare costs.
