Yes the intent was to insult any and everyone that is playing on the fears of those that listen to them. Do you feel insulted?

Yah—but—it takes 48 to 72 hours for the virus to show up in a blood test.

More lies to calm down the deluded residents of the Dallas area.

My understanding is that the test has a relatively high rate of false negatives.

That is true especially in the first two days of fever. Ebola produces symptoms well before the virus concentration is high enough to show on Elisa or PCR tests (amazing - those are usually sensitive tests). Most negatives are correct, but there are a substantial number of false negatives in the first few days with symptoms. I hope he does not have Ebola, but I would not jump to that conclusion until his fever goes away or he has a second negative test three days after the first.

You’ll know fear when it gets closer to you.

Once the laboratory test is — once the blood is obtained, we usually can get — we usually get a test result back within 24 hours. Once we have it in the laboratory it’s very quick. It just takes a few hours. Between the time of the transport of the specimen to the laboratory. There’s a relatively fast turn around. I would say within a day people have the results.

Wait another 4 days.

I agree.

But still, this is preliminary good news. Sidebar Moderator, can you put this in "Breaking News"? After all, if the initial report gets "Breaking News" treatment, so should significant updates....

I hope and pray that the Sheriff makes a full recovery. He is a brave man.

However, I hate that the folks are being lulled into a false sense of security.

The way things are going in Spain, this appears to be a Super Ebola. It just won’t play by the rules.

Yes, indeed, “Breaking News”.

Prayers that the testing will continue negative.

In addition to what’s already been said, the “Department of State Health Services” is about the last source I would trust on this.

“Much to the chagrin of the fear mongerers.”

Hang on. There is still room for the Ebola conspiracy contingent.

Where did the “21 Day Incubation Period” come from? When does a test for Ebola become fool proof? Are there really false negatives that turn out to be positives? How exactly is Ebola contracted? Seems there is contradictory information. I would prefer to air on the side of caution, but not our goverment.

Does not make me a fear monger, not at all.

Duncan’s girlfriend will be the on to watch. If she doesn’t get it, we’ll probably be in the clear.
