Is the judge saying blacks and Latinos are too stupid to have an ID?

Nope, just affirming what Twain said.

If voting made any difference they wouldn't let us do it." Mark Twain -

Maybe Bush should have kept Roberts as O'Connor's replacement, then Miers or someone else would be the Chief Justice now?

It would be tough to top the Alito appointment.

RIP...USA! It’s over folks, we the people have given away our freedom without a fight. Any friggin illegal can walk into a polling booth and vote. We have succumbed to a dictatorship. The courts are packed with commie, lib, socialist judges (99% DemocRATS). Don’t ever say elections don’t matter!

In Wisconsin, this basically means the woman running for governor will win, throwing Walker out of office.

The woman is unemployed currently; bought the presidency of a country club; worked at Trek Bicycle doing something for 2 years, but no one knows exactly what the job was - nor can she clearly articulate it; worked for the previous governor for 2 years, then quit for reasons unknown; has been unemployed for the past 7 years; is heir to Trek Bicycle fortune; snow boarded for several years in Europe. That is basically her complete resume.

She will win because she is not Walker. In this state, any one running for office starts with 46 percent of the vote. She only trails Walker by the slimiest of margins now. The usual Dem ballot box stuffing, Minnesota and Illinois voters voting in WI, etc will carry her over to win with out voter ID.

Predictions is that after she wins, she will quit one or two years in, since she has never worked at anything for more than a few years, and perhaps go snow boarding again ...

During her short tenure, WI taxes will skyrocket again, the state will hemorrhage jobs again, taxpayers will once again be forced to fund lavish perks on teachers driving property taxes through the roof again ... That is how much the 46 percent hate Walker.

Back in the 80’s, I would often say “the biggest mistake Reagan ever made was nominating GHWB”.

Oh, Fer Pete’s Sake! INSANITY!

At least Governor Walker has a solid lead as of now. I think this is REALLY going to turn out our base.

“Texas Atty. Gen. Gregg Abbott said the state would appeal the ruling.”

Our JB Van Hollen had BETTER be doing the same! @#$%^&*!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I swear, if I ever get another dog, I’m going to teach it how to read, then give it a list of Federal judges to bite.

Interesting events but differing reasons being used in each situation.

The Texas ruling was struck down by the Judge. In Wisconsin the SCOTUS
basically agreed it was too late to implement for this election, thus delayed
but wasn’t struck down.

“That was one of the main arguments that opponents of the law had made — that
it was too late to put this law into effect this year,” Pam tells Morning Edition.
“It had been on hold for two years until in September a federal court ruled
that it could go into effect. But by that time, the state had already sent out
hundreds of absentee ballots that did not include ID instructions. So
election officials were going to have to track down each of those voters and
have them send in a copy of their ID so their votes would count, which was
quite a mess. Now those votes will count.”

It is the Constitution ... supremacy clause and all.
***************************
You frequently mention you law background. Will you please post a link or two that prescribes what this so-called “supremacy clause” is and how it can override the 10th Amendment? ...Where in the laws of the US does it give Judges the authority to negate legally enacted laws approved by legislatures of States?

Meh. I guess it’s time to get used to saying, ‘Governor Burke.’ *SPIT*

Nah, I’m still confident Scott Walker will win re-election. The left is throwing everything at the wall these days, and so far nothing is sticking, as Walker has a solid lead.

First debate tonight. Pretty sure I can’t stomach it; but Walker will trounce her. In a polite way. :)

I early voted in the March primary here in TX. There were signs everywhere at the polling place showing that photo ID was required. ....I went to the table and had both DL and voter registration card. The man only took my DL, put info into the computer...which cross-matched to the voter registration data base to get confirmation...and it only took about one minute.

Three of the last four polls have Walker up ranging between a 2% - 5% spread.
Good luck.

Texas has one of the strictest voter ID laws in the country, and voting rights groups challenged it as discriminatory. Last night, District Court Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos agreed. In a strongly worded opinion, she said the law discriminated against the state's Hispanic and African American voters, because they're less likely to have the required government-issued photo ID, and could have a more difficult time getting one. She said that the law effectively imposed a poll tax because some voters would have to pay to get documents — such as a birth certificate — needed to get a photo ID. Perhaps more importantly, she found that the state enacted the law with the intention of discriminating against voters.

On January 26, 2011, President Barack Obama nominated Ramos to replace Judge Hayden Head.[3] Well I for one am shocked!

FUBO

Judge appointments by the Democrats are killing us!

Is the judge saying blacks and Latinos are too stupid to have an ID? Why are whites capable of having IDs but minorities aren’t? Are that that freakin’ stupid?

In a 147-page opinion, U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos, an appointee of President Barack Obama confirmed to the bench in 2011,

This stupid judge said the gas needed to go get a photo ID was in effect a poll tax. I can't buy beer or spray paint without swiping my DL when the cashiers ring it up.

I’m glad Gregg Abbott is appealing this awful ruling in Texas.

I hope he succeeds.

We give the welfare for everything else. Why not welfare for gas to get an id? And are minorities the only ones that are poor? This judge is criminal.

I'd bet there are not many legal Texans who don't have a photo ID. This is another 'wise latina' judge who wants to allow illegals to vote.
