HA..! I had to look it up... IT means "common era", and bce means "before common era". Same AD and BC.

Why..? Just to mess with us "old folk"... :)

Here's the problem this causes as you and I realize...You can't pick up an old history book withou reading B.C. or A.D..

Just causes confusion.

The same thing with not teaching "writing". These kids can't even read a letter from grandma.

And I refuse to use them myself, but whenever I encounter “CE” or “BCE”, I just read them as “the Christian Era” and “Before the Christian Era”, respectively.
