Evidence to the contrary.
I was thinking the same about him flying in his dress uniform. No one does it nowadays unless you are escorting a fallen comrade home. His uniform doesn’t add up either. Special Forces tab and regimental affiliation, but wearing a blue infantry cord. They are 2 separate branches. Maybe the National Guard has separate regs on their uniforms.
“Obviously flight attendants had gotten their ass chewed for making exceptions.”
Not obvious.
The way you worded your sentence tells me that you have. We here at FR refer to that site as DU, not THE DU. Nice try.
Oh. . .and “You are thinking the flight attendant was being disrespectful. I think she thought she was doing her job as instructed.”
There is a difference between doing your job and doing your job rudely.
It is because of this soldier and others like him who fought and died that you have the right to free speech. You are beneath contempt.
Actually, even Ray Charles could see you were disrespectful towards the soldier.
“I also see it from the stewardesses position as well. People have been known to lose their job doing things like this.”
Then it should be easy to cite an example of a stewardess being fired for behaving nicely.
Sorry, I’ve never been there. The only reason why I know about it is through this site.
There is a regulation for every stinking part that goes into ever bird. The F.A.A. Cert. on a new aircraft goes down to how fare apart the snaps on the curtains are.
Most likely the Captain was flying the plane...or in cockpit. I think with the picture all were informed about the lack of respect for our military with the Airlinenemployee, who should be fired.
Some airlines try to upgrade a traveler to First Class if they are flying in uniform.
US Media are mostly democratic...Fox News has some good journalists. However it may not have been sent to them, and if news anchors do not get it first, some don’t follow up.
It was dumb. Let the guy hang up his uniform for crying out loud and avoid all the bad press. This isn’t the Vietnam era where you can get away with pushing around a vet. Despite what the left thinks, there is still a lot of respect for those who defends the country.
The National Guard has similar uniform regs as the regular Army. Got this from a web site
Wearing Army uniforms is prohibited in the following situations:
In connection with the furtherance of any political or commercial interest, or when engaged in off duty civilian employment.
He is a 1st SGT, he should be very familiar with the regs
Upon reading of the article, it does mention that several First Class passengers offered to switch seats with the first sgt. He politely declined...
US Air sucks bad. All the airlines do. The employees don’t work or think. It’s the fault of management. Whenever i see terrible service, it’s the managements fault.
“ In connection with the furtherance of any political or commercial interest, or when engaged in off duty civilian employment.”
Thinking about it, I don’t see him violating that reg.
—Not a political event
—Not a commercial interest (like pushing used cars or some sort of business)
—Not engaged in civilian employment. Looking for a job.
Just my thoughts on that. . .
“Because they pay more.”
You (and others) didn’t get my point.
The screening is performed by TSA, not the airlines. But TSA allows the airlines to set up special lines for its first-class passengers - except that TSA should treat everybody equally, ie as citizens.
You don’t see the distinction?
Oh C’mon lets just be honest. Flight attendant by its very name means a person who attends the passengers. I won’t go as far as to say flying cocktail waitress but lets be real about the job. If you ask them to hang your coat up they need to hang your coat up.
Some of these gals are getting a little long in the tooth for the job. After 30 years or so they have morphed into the soup Nazi,
“Looking at the picture I think the proper rank is Sgt. Major”
Well, it’s been awhile since being in the Big Green Machine. So, Googled this to see if there’s been any changes since back in the day. And, I found that three up and three down with a diamond in the middle is still First Sargent. Sargent Major has a star, then there’s two more above that which are Command Sargent Major which has a star with a wreath, Command Sargent Major of the Army which has a star, wreath, and some stars. Anyway, the guy in the pic is in the fast lane for sure as he seems young for the rank. But, just about everyone seems young to me these days :)
