I think it's important to learn what was being said back then in light of the unending steam of BS coming out of the Obama White House and the CDC. The emphasis in red is mine. Also, the idea that such a person as Pianka exists is frightening.

Maurice Strong (Known as the godfather of Agenda21) has also expressed a desire to eliminate three quarters of the people on the north American continent. I believe Prince Charles has also expressed similar sentiments.

Recently I exchanged a number of e-mails with Pianka. I pointed out to him that one might infer his death wish was really aimed at Africans, for Ebola is found only in Central Africa. He replied that Ebola does not discriminate, kills everyone and could spread to Europe and the the Americas by a single infected airplane passenger. Will he be the fall guy?

Many such people exist in science. I worked with a few who expressed the belief, after the 2001 terrorism events, that while an outbreak of terrorist seeded smallpox could kill 1/3 of the planet, that it would nevertheless be a net good for the environment.

They were totally serious about this too.

Dr. Pianka must have been an attention seeking spoiled child. A spoiled child who was never trained, never taught the golden rule, and has persisted in his attention seeking rants as an adult.

Now, unlike a spoiled child, his rant carries the dangerous weight of authority. Put enough people like this monster in positions of power and you’ll have a situation which will make the mass slaughter of millions by Hitler, Stalin, and Mao look like a picnic.

I sometimes get the feeling that ‘prestigious’ committee awards are akin to the famous criteria for newspaper headlines; “If it bleeds, it leads!” The more outrageous and/or horrific suggestion or theory proffered is, like a good horror movie, embraced for its ‘squick’ factor, regardless of its underlying worth.

I wonder if that committee would have had a different reaction if the ‘good doctor’ had pulled out a gun and shot members at random? By their award they were in favor of 90% of THEM dying a gruesome death along with their family and friends. But since they ‘knew’ that there was no possibility of this really happening, like a horror film, they could just enjoy the cold chills without and consequence. Of course the same could have been said of the ambitions of the young Pol Pot or Bin Laden.
