They took to the streets in downtown St. Louis on Saturday, coming by the thousands to march in protest. And what was the festering grievance that cohered these marchers, the noble cause that brought them from every corner of the country to the Gateway City? Was it the new war in Iraq? Global warming, perhaps? Or was it a higher minimum wage they were seeking? No, it was none of these things. As the St. Louis Post-Dispatch tells it [1], they came “to protest the death of Michael Brown and call for an end to police violence nationwide.”

The preprinted signs would suggest outside influence. I find it hard to believe the residents pooled their money for the signs.

Protesters who are allegedly protesting violence and police brutality against the black community, are engaging in violence to express their point of view. Really??
Who don’t we see violence at other social/political events, such as Tea Party rallies, rallies for traditional marriage, pro-life marches, stadium rallies urging us to accept Christ, etc.??? Why are some major demonstrations peaceful, and others, seemingly prone to unrest?????
