Yes I agree with your comments. I would add this — everyone knew Iraq has chemical WMDs. That was well documented and he had had those for years. We didn’t go into Iraq over chemical WMDs. It was feared he had nukes or bio WMDs which were never found other than that empty bio trailer.

Bush could have played politics and said - see — they had chemical WMDs but everyone knew that already. He chose to play it honestly. He should have handled it better politically.

I think the key thing is — we never found nukes or bio agents but that doesn’t mean they were not there. There’s lots of sand in Iraq and we saw lots of trucks moving stuff to Syria. Bush should have said that just because we didn’t find them doesn’t mean they didn’t exist and never conceded the left’s premise.
