Wait a second. I thought all the nurses were in quarantine.

How can we be taken seriously?

Ohioans are safe, according to state health officials:

The above article even repeats the CDC facts and recommendations.

Oh, it’s an `offense’ alright, but `impeachable’ doesn’t come anywhere near close enough to cover it.

One of the few constitutional duties of the federal government is to protect the nation and American citizens.

And I’m saying it’s not going to be the lack of ability to travel that makes healthcare workers decide that. It’s going to be the ebola patients.

The ineptitude in the handling of this crisis is outrageous on so many levels.

BTW, the CDC did NOT consider the HCW ‘exposed’ ...

Really hits home the point that they really don't know how this is being transmitted. Neither of the 2 in the now-growing cluster were considered high risks, yet they came down with it. Maybe the answer is not to be found in a PubMed journal, but rather by listening to the doctors from MCF.

I am not indicting those 2 young nurses, but questioning the wisdom of those in charge to place younger newly graduated nurses in this position.

If they completed a BSN, they could have four years of experience if they started work upon graduation - more if they received an AAS in Nursing.

I don't think it's unreasonable to consider that if more HCWs get sick, that the PPE and care protocols in place were inadequate.

No kidding. Even *Nigeria* had that clue. We apparently didn’t.

It doesn’t need to be airborne - the guys was spewing bodily fluids and their suits were primitive.

However, I think these exposed workers were coddled and not given the truth. If this young woman had known how at risk she truly was, she wouldn’t have gone to Ohio to expose loved ones.

An snkppe from my old computer database:

JULY 31, 2002 : (WASHINGTON POST REPORTS THAT THE CIA FOUND IRAQI WEAPONS LAB —— see BLUE NILE) The Washington Post runs a report (Reality is uncertainty,” by Joby Warrick, Washington Post , 31 July 2002) suggesting that the CIA has found a laboratory called Talhaddy, or “Challenge” on the west bank of the Tigris River, employing a team of 85 scientists working on a viral strain code-named Blue Nile. Detail sound similar to Ebola Virus, a lethal hemorrahagic disease. —— Iraq- Scotsman Says Saddam has weapons to wipe out world’s population, nuclear bomb withing 3 years,” The Scotsman Dossier- SPECIAL REPORT ON IRAQ,” by Westminster Editor

Cindy, this was likely from one of the lists of links you posted back in Bush’s time so it is probably in the FR archives someplace too.

Some might continue to be involved in treating until they realize their lives will be turned upside down even if they are not likely to be exposed.

The dr. said, yes, the chances are very small but it is still possible to spread the disease through bodily fluid before any symptoms arrive

We have no idea how small is "small". A lot of small interactions with other people while the virus is exploding exponentially in the victims body, added together, equals a transmission.

From a disease control standpoint, yes. But supposing they knew they were exposed and wanted to visit family one more time, just in case they were infected.

What a thoughtful daughter.

Apparently, the claim is that you are not contagious before you show symptoms, I just saw on the news.

I don’t blame her because she is young, was recently a student (hence used to digesting and believing what she is told), and bought the CDC bullshit she was told on how she was at Extremely Tiny Risk and all that.

Agreed, but I would settle for immediate criminal impeachment at this point.
