PA politics is unique in some ways. It can be a blue state that votes consistently red when it comes some social issues and guns. This is especially true for politicians from the “T” (shape of the state when you remove Pittsburgh and Philadelphia).

There are a lot of conservative Democrats here who vote “D” a general reflex, but make their conservative/mainstream views known on specific issues.

Thanks, that explains a lot.My mom is PA Dutch from Reading, and I know that whole area is very conservative in thought, but inexplicably the family voted dem.
