House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is calling for appropriators to “return to Washington immediately” to approve additional funding for the Ebola response.
Congress has approved the administration’s request to shift $750 million in Pentagon funds toward the response, and lawmakers voted for a spending bill in September that included $88 million for Ebola.
The White House suggested Thursday the administration might ask Congress for even more money as health officials scramble to prevent the disease from spreading.

After wasting tax dollars, officials at CDC, NIH claim budget cuts hurt Ebola preparedness
1) elimination of BS funding from CDC for condom research (etc), and
2 an immediate rock solid travel ban.
Better yet, call Dr Freiden back and ask him to explain, item by item, why all the BS studies were funded with CDC money that could have been used for more serious work.

More than enough money available by simply reallocating all the AIDS research funds to Ebola, redirecting all CDC resources to Ebola vaccine and drug research, and withdraw all nonsense grants (how monkeys copulate, why queers are sad and fat, etc.) and redirect them to Ebola.
Pelosi doesn’t care about the money, this is purely designed as a set up for the midterms. If she gets the cash, Dems can say they forced the Republicans to approve it. If they don’t get it, the Dems will point to the refusal for election purposes. The Democratic Party is mentally ill.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Army, Navy, Air Force are at a post WW2 low, officers and enlisted being cashiered left and right. Meanwhile, social spending is at an all-time high with more social ills than ever.
Solution to Ebola? Transfer more defense money.
